From the epic crescendo of Tell Me, the lush and wistful vibe of Without Your Love, to the quirky sampled groove of the EP's title track, finishing with the icy late nite breaks-meets-bass thud of Yukon, this record is Strictly Business in-deed, and the best kind.

A word from the artist about the track: "Maracatu Detroit" was originally inspired by my good friend Rafael Cancian's visit to Detroit. He put me on to a bunch of Brazilian music, including the artist I sampled for this cut. I started working on the track over a year later, after I moved to a neighborhood in Chicago called Humboldt Park. It's one of the most Puerto Rican neighborhoods in the US. At pretty much all times of the day you can hear the Reggaeton Dembow beat blasting from cars, the park, and people's homes. So I felt inclined to include a sped up version in this cut. The track was debuted in Detroit at my Sunday Revival party at MotorCity Wine, and it went off like I couldn't have imagined. I can still picture the dancers in my mind, and I had to dedicate it to my home city."

Then there’s the hard-working, grown-ass groove of Proletariat Blues, and Made In China, a beautiful slow-burner for those early evening spins or late-night comedowns.

On the A-side, Aroop Roy means serious business with 'Reason to Dance'. Driven by an outrageous slap bass, infectious horn stabs and a limb-shaking vocal refrain, it's no surprise that this has been THE secret weapon of his recent sets around the world.

On the flip, Detroit native @petercroce, fresh from the huge success of his Razor-N-Tape EP, comes in equally strong, with the gospel-fuelled disco cut 'Just Like Heaven'. The track builds patiently, lingering on a raw disco groove, honing in on a powerful brass section and spirit-lifting vocals, and eventually climaxing with epic strings and thunderous piano.
