This was a rough sketch [ you will still hear some breaks ] that I was working on before it became a mastered track on The Bertrand's Grail Gates; Womb Awakening CD. I had our recorded vocal tracks and went back to my studio to edit and tune things up with my additional vocals, found an ocean sample that didn't have an overabundance of screeching seagulls from a free Sounds of Nature audio site and finished it with a simple piano melody on my Kawai.

Pi Mantra mix

Little Black Dress is Asheville folk duo, Linda Go and Marilia Trevisani. Linda composed music for The Rind, a poem Marilia wrote. .
 'I recorded this single track on a summer evening. You will hear the katydids in the background. I had a tune in my head and didn't want to lose it as it was too late to set up all my audio gear to record properly. With my i-Phone 4  I used the voice memo app and recorded it in one take as I sang and accompanied myself on my Luna ukulele. The notes I plucked out is reminiscent of an oud or bouzouki which I happen to love. I dropped my voice memo on to Garageband the next day and put reverb on it and this is the result.'

The end of a relationship can be difficult to resolve without going into blame, shame and guilt. The title "Bittersweet" may explain it all as far as lyrical content. After a very upsetting break up, I sat down one night with my iPhone and Luna ukelele in hand. It wasn't long before the words and melody flowed out in a single take, capturing my sadness and profound disappointment in a trust that was broken.

In Vedic astrology, Ketu is headless and represents spirituality and supernatural influences.  Ketu is a karaka or indicator of intelligence, wisdom, non-attachment, imagination, penetrating insight and psychic abilities.Ketu and it has been called the most spiritual of all planets. Ketu has been considered the planet of enlightenment and liberation. It is the one who has “lost his head (worldly senses = Tattva (Ayyavazhi))”, being a personification of renunciation (torso without a head who needs nothing). Ketu is the ascetic that wants to go beyond the mundane life and achieve the final liberation.Ketu is believed to bring prosperity to the devotee. The people who come under the influence of Ketu can achieve great heights, most of them spiritual. This chant I created and recorded is a bija form mantra for Ketu---Bija is the seed sound 'Kam' (came - phonetic) for Ketu.
