As a person lucky enough to have been brought up in western society, i count myself lucky in general. I have access to running water, food and education at little to no cost. Despite this fact i find myself regularly making up problems in my life that aren't actually problems, these problems come in many varieties. Problems such as 'i don't have the latest iPhone' and 'my TV isn't big enough' often plague me both when i'm awake and in my sleep. This song is about these problems and the feeling in which they ultimately culminate. I call this feeling the 'Western Blues'. I am aware that sarcasm is hard to detect in text so i will inform you now, the lyrical content of this song is intended to be entirely sarcastic.

This song was spawned when i was sat one evening contemplating getting a job to supplement the little money i make from my music. I realised that the thought made me wretch and i also started thinking about all of the other things in 'this life' that are depressing and oppressing (usually in equal measure). Instead of going out and throwing petrol bombs i decided that writing a song that portrayed my pessimistic views on life would soothe my mind. This is the result. 

This Life

I accidentally purchased a bright yellow Reanualt Megane 1.6L convertible for £400 during an argument with my mother. I named her Daisy. Daisy was absolutely terrible and fell apart at every opportunity but i still loved her for some reason. Eventually finances would not allow me to continue keeping her alive and i had to sell her. This is my ode to her.

A song written when i was 18 years old. The girl i was with at the time left me because i was a bit of a knob. I didnt see that at the time. So, I wrote this song. It tells the chronological tale of our relationship from the perspective of a bitter 18 year old version of myself.

Lindsey Simpson is a Blues musician from Kingston Upon Hull in Yorkshire. In 2009, Lindsey began his live music career by playing at the famous New Adelphi Club. It was here that Lindsey wowed his first audience and burst onto Hull's local music scene with true blues fury.

Lindsey is an eccentric stage performer with excellent crowd control and an eclectic mix of Blues and Country. He has performed on the main stage at Hull's Freedom festival, Filey Folk Festival, Beverley folk festival, Cottingham music festival, Music Port world music festival.The largest non festival venues he has performed at includes Huddersfield Town Hall, Hull City Hall and Sheffield City Hall

He has supported the likes of Ali Bain & Phil Cunningham, Michael Chapman and John Tamms & Barry Coop to name just a few. And played at the same festivals as Florence & the Machine and Martha Reeves 7 the Vandellas 

During summer 2013 Lindsey had a cider named after him. Made by Burnards in Norfolk 'Lindsey Simpson's Slide Blues Cider' is medium sweet and at 5.4%abv really packs a punch. It is widely available throughout the UK. 

His songwriting keeps audiences often silent as they listen to the stories of intrigue and messages that are put across. With a mix of old style blues, country and humorous lyrical content Lindsey is fast becoming one of the UK's most entertaining musicians and is tipped for fame by many.
