These samples are intended to illustrate the new (Oct 2015) version 2.0 Lindsay System Chanter, and the drone set which has been developed to support it.

Included are a few tunes, some drone demos, and some scales to illustrate a few of the keys that the chanter can play in.

All of this music demonstrates the Lindsay System Chanter version 2.0, which is a nominal "A" Scottish Smallpipes chanter, with range extended both upwards and downwards to allow two octaves, starting on "D". The chanter is as comfortable in the traditional Scottish pipe modes (based around "A"), as it is in D major (see tunes below). Various keys and modes can be played in addition to this, including A major, A minor, A dorian, E major, E minor, B minor, B major, D minor, G major, and many other less common scales & modes. Available drone tunings include a classic Bass-Baritone-Tenor configuration in either "A", "D" or "E", and a Bass-Tenor pair sounding "B". These are all achieved using a typical four-drone "combination" set, equipped with long tuning slides.
