After the very well received Linkwood remix of 'See You On Monday', it’s now time for one of Herbert’s biggest records; ‘Deeper’, from the iconic "Part Two" EP, 20 years old but still timeless! On remix duties is Basic Soul Unit, who saw his album released on Dekmantel end of last year. We knew he was good, but his remix exceeded each and any of our expectations. What a bomb!!! Anthony Fade; seemingly a solo alias however, actually a duo - thus plummeting uninformed listeners self-esteem into the abyss as they utter - “Anthony Fade is good isn’t he” - just for some smart-ass to chime in and say “Erm - it’s actually THEY not HE” - Anyway; the Australian DUO (thank us later) graduate from their last release on sub-label Lost Palms, delivering three outstanding floor-driven cuts (with legend Andrés​ on remix duty!!!) for the 17th release of one of our favourite labels; Shall Not Fade.

First of all, it must be said that the release in it’s entirety is absolutely outstanding -  featuring back to front dancefloor heaters from A1 to B2, which will undoubtedly make it into the record bags of your favourite dj’s and the  onto the floors of your favourite clubs. 

This Premiere features “Creepin’” - patently the moodiest cut of the record, oozing with as much soul and sass of yer Da’s mustard corduroy flares. Acting as a vessel for the dusty, jazz fueled melody, the kick (often a neglected craft in contemporary dance music) stylishly pounds and swings throughout the record, playfully conversing with the potent accompanying raw percussion. This is the post-midnight stomper that prompts fizzing synapses, glinting eyes and nods of approval throughout the room. Hold it close - ‘twas a good night.

Their characteristic, fervent style connects story telling with genuine interpretation of all time classics of the fifties and sixties. I couldn’t stress enough the startling vocal and melodic talents that make this the clean-cut cool band you’d want to be dancing to by the time you met with their groove.

This set of musicians admire those natural performers who sophisticatedly crooned their way through the most successful times the standard jazz and popular music era would go through. Allow them to convey this to you: Sharing is what real music’s all about!
