In this song, he asks the question: "am I and my people cursed with all these challenges because of the fact we are Cape Coloured?" Yet in the same breath he makes a BOLD STATEMENT to say, we do overcome and survive these life obstacles because WE ARE COLOURED! This song is intended to highlight and salute all Coloured people of South Africa and abroad.

After YOMA’s 1st two singles “Crazy Tye” and “YOMA SIN” was released she has toured the proverbial world to the maximum, with awarded and honoured productions such as “Die Afrikaansvatter” and “ALLBasters”. She even visited The Netherlands and performed in shows at Compagne Theatre as well as the world famous “Die Melkweg” in Amsterdam. She is also heavily busy with cultivating raw talents and mentoring young artists with the ATKV’s Crescendo program which spans across the country, the Crescendo program has YOMA literally working from city to city throughout South Africa.

Still, she has taken the time to share her third single with us. On this song she reveals a different side to her by making complex rhyme schemes easily listenable and absorb-able to her audience.

Linkris releases the first single: BOM BOM SHIT off his new project 
                    “Giftige Venootskappe” (Toxic Partnerships)

As a tribute to Cape Town and the broader Hip hop community, Linkris has decided to release a free project, symbolising that unity in Hip hop is alive and well. The concept behind Giftige Venootskappe is simple: There is power in collaboration! Most of the songs that form part of this series were created while Linkris was travelling both national and internationally. The aim of this project is to showcase some of Hip hop’s most talented, hard working but often un-noticed artists. Giftige Venootskappe is Hip hop in it’s purest form and contains various languages and very contrasting personalities too! 

A new song will be released on a bi-weekly basis so stay tuned to Linkris’ social media pages for updates.

The first single ‘Bom Bom Shit’ features Klein Fortuin, Amy Brown and Jedi Knight.

The song features an interesting delivery and rap style that is evident from the get-go. Although there is a major emphasis on contrast, the transitions between each artist remains pleasant and seamless. Bom Bom shit speaks about independence, entrepreneurship as well as teamwork to achieve collective goals. 

The song has a hard hitting sound and some hardcore lyrics which takes listeners on a journey into true boom bap style Hip hop. 

Bom Bom Shit also serves as a refresher on what Hip hop music and culture is all about: Pure honest Expression of Self.

Katalis Productions  presents the second Klein Fortuin collaboration alongside the Cape Flats veteran emcee Linkris the Genius, this is Klein’s fourth single release for 2017. ‘Lyn Span’ can have various meanings, but in this track, Klein Fortuin is talking about how he is paving his road to success. This track has him flexing his lyrical muscles as he shares the cold hard truth of the constant work he puts in despite doubts and disappointments that may have crossed his path on his journey in Hip hop.

LinkrisTheGenius will have you nodding in agreement as he paints the battles that inspires him to constantly raise the bar, in any given form, to ensure the longevity and growth of local Hip hop. Hard work and consistency remains the main ingredients to success.

This production done by Gsoul will have your head bobbing from the get go. This instrumental has a cool “new school” feel over hard Boom bap style drums. Versatility is what producer Gsoul is very well known for.

This is no booty track, it’s the: stand there, intensely bob your head in agreement with loud sounds and smirks as you journey through the track. Linkris The Genius releases the first single off his new KhoiSan Tzu Project.

There will be no rest this Summer for Hip hop artist LinkrisTheGenius as he ventures into creating a new project titled ‘KhoiSan Tzu’ which is set for release in the first quarter of 2018. The new release Gazi’Lam (family, brother, sister, friend, comrade, blood, etc.) is a teaser of what can be expected from this new project.  Gazi’Lam is a laid-back track and it contains elements of: Grime, Futuristic bells and nostalgic Boom Bap sounds. Linkris calls this sound Afrikaaps Grime, a sound which he and the Katalis team of producers has created and will continue to expand on with the release of the Khoisan Tzu project in 2018.

Lindley Heynes, known as the artist LinkrisTheGenius, has been juggling his recent position as co-Producer and co-Host on the Hip hop radio show Headwarmaz on Bush Radio 89.5 FM, his recent venture as Event Organiser and Host of Northern Lights Hip hop and his existing responsibilities as Managing Director of  Katalis Productions, with no time to spare for focusing on creating any new projects of his own. 

Linkris says ‘After pouring so much of myself into the advancement of others, many times even to my own detriment, I have decided to take a break to rejuvenate for 2018. By break, I mean locking myself in the studio, release everything I need to get off my chest and create a masterpiece.’

Lindley Heynes aka Linkris The Genius is a South African Rap artist born and bred on the Cape Flats, South Africa. He uses both the Afrikaans/Afrikaaps and English languages to paint vivid images to tell his story. He has been an activist for Coloured Human Rights for many years on many levels.
Linkris currently has music videos in rotation on major television networks such as: Kyknet, Kyknet&Kie, Channel O, MTV Base, Trace Africa and more. 
In 2017 he was nominated for "Best Afrikaans Rap Single" by the GHOEMA Music Awards.
In 2016 his song Game Change Gazi was #1 on the Hip hop top 20 charts on Good Hope FM.
In 2016 he toured The Netherlands and performed in: Utrecht, Amsterdam and Den Haag as part of the Afrovibes festival.
Linkris has performed nationally in South Africa at big festivals such as: KKNK, Hawston Sea festival, Suidooster Festival, African Hip hop Indaba and many more.
He has been a key component in piecing together and performing in Award-winning theater productions.
Linkris is currently the co-producer and co-host on South Africa's oldest and most highly decorated Hip hop radio show : HeadWarmaz Hip hop show. 
Linkris is also the organizer and host of a monthly Hip hop event titled: "Northern Lights Hip hop Nights" an event that is dedicated to being a platform for other upcoming as well as established Artists in South Africa.
