It is however a natural and organic amalgamation which took place and it was bound to happen as HemelBesem, Linkris and YOMA have been working together very closely over the last year or so.

Die Salwing is a collective that was established to serve as a creative vent/outlet for each of the 3 artists involved. A creative outlet which allows each emcee explore and push new sonic boundaries. Die Salwing is literally translated as "The Anointing". It is interpreted differently by each of the three emcees...

Linkris releases one more single off his album Bloed is Dikker as Water

With anticipation growing stronger as the “Bloed is Dikker as Water” album release date draws near, Linkris decided to give the public one more free track off the album.

The track was heard by listeners for the first time when Linkris performed it live at the Ready D show that took place 7 September 2016 at Grand West Casino. If you were part of the audience or were tuned in via radio, then you know that he came through live, raw and unapologetically direct.

The name of the single is “Meditasie” and you will go into a state of “boom bap” meditation as Linkris captures you with his truth. His frustration and anger is evident as he paints the reality for most Kullid people on the Cape Flats.

This is the final leak off the album, next week 28 September 2016, be ready, the digital release will be out.

The two emcees who are constantly pushing the boundaries and undoubtedly flying the flag for Afrikaans Hip hop in Southern Africa has decided to collaborate. This song speaks about hustle, hard work and finding loop holes to make things work for yourself. Both Linkris and Early B are artists who have created lanes for themselves in the South African Hip hop market. There's certainly much that can be learned by watching these two artists work. While each of them have their own respective rap styles when they do solo songs, on Hustlah they have created a lyrical harmony which gels perfectly with the instrumental.

As a tribute to Cape Town and the broader Hip hop community, Linkris has decided to release a free project, symbolising that unity in Hip hop is alive and well. The concept behind Giftige Venootskappe is simple: There is power in collaboration! Most of the songs that form part of this series were created while Linkris was travelling both national and internationally. The aim of this project is to showcase some of Hip hop’s most talented, hard working but often un-noticed artists. Giftige Venootskappe is Hip hop in it’s purest form and contains various languages and very contrasting personalities too! 

A new song will be released on a bi-weekly basis so stay tuned to Linkris’ social media pages for updates.

The first single ‘Bom Bom Shit’ features Klein Fortuin, Amy Brown and Jedi Knight.

The song features an interesting delivery and rap style that is evident from the get-go. Although there is a major emphasis on contrast, the transitions between each artist remains pleasant and seamless. Bom Bom shit speaks about independence, entrepreneurship as well as teamwork to achieve collective goals. 

The song has a hard hitting sound and some hardcore lyrics which takes listeners on a journey into true boom bap style Hip hop. 

Bom Bom Shit also serves as a refresher on what Hip hop music and culture is all about: Pure honest Expression of Self.

Klein Fortuin drops Lyn Span, the fourth release off his upcoming Mitchell’s Klein project.

Katalis Productions  presents the second Klein Fortuin collaboration alongside the Cape Flats veteran emcee Linkris the Genius, this is Klein’s fourth single release for 2017. ‘Lyn Span’ can have various meanings, but in this track, Klein Fortuin is talking about how he is paving his road to success. This track has him flexing his lyrical muscles as he shares the cold hard truth of the constant work he puts in despite doubts and disappointments that may have crossed his path on his journey in Hip hop.

LinkrisTheGenius will have you nodding in agreement as he paints the battles that inspires him to constantly raise the bar, in any given form, to ensure the longevity and growth of local Hip hop. Hard work and consistency remains the main ingredients to success.

Lindley Heynes aka Linkris The Genius is a South African Rap artist born and bred on the Cape Flats, South Africa. He uses both the Afrikaans/Afrikaaps and English languages to paint vivid images to tell his story. He has been an activist for Coloured Human Rights for many years on many levels.
Linkris currently has music videos in rotation on major television networks such as: Kyknet, Kyknet&Kie, Channel O, MTV Base, Trace Africa and more. 
In 2017 he was nominated for "Best Afrikaans Rap Single" by the GHOEMA Music Awards.
In 2016 his song Game Change Gazi was #1 on the Hip hop top 20 charts on Good Hope FM.
In 2016 he toured The Netherlands and performed in: Utrecht, Amsterdam and Den Haag as part of the Afrovibes festival.
Linkris has performed nationally in South Africa at big festivals such as: KKNK, Hawston Sea festival, Suidooster Festival, African Hip hop Indaba and many more.
He has been a key component in piecing together and performing in Award-winning theater productions.
Linkris is currently the co-producer and co-host on South Africa's oldest and most highly decorated Hip hop radio show : HeadWarmaz Hip hop show. 
Linkris is also the organizer and host of a monthly Hip hop event titled: "Northern Lights Hip hop Nights" an event that is dedicated to being a platform for other upcoming as well as established Artists in South Africa.
