The Afrikaans Hip hop artist Linkris, is progressively starting to capture more and more listeners in his web of punchlines and commanding beats. Although the original 'boom bap' sound has become less prominent, Linkris maintains with the style, and so much more comes through when you hear him on a song. He speaks on behalf of a group of people. You can hear the pain and humour, but also the danger and the lessons he learned from the streets ... With his new track “Wat het Djy dan gecheck?” he once again does not disappoint. This time he deviates slightly from the bare punchline rhymes and social commentary and focusses on sketching scenes with his lyrics. 

The honoured Afrikaans Hip hop artist and pioneer HemelBesem, shares some of his own personal battles in this new release. We have not heard Hemelbesem in this way for a long time. It's that “Evil is Maklik” rhymes coming through; and if you knew his work from those days, you will appreciate the verse he delivers here.

Lance Luger is responsible for the music that does enough to highlight the stories of both Linkris and Hemelbesem thus carrying listeners as they pin their ears back. This is the third single/leak from his forthcoming album “Bloed is dikker as water”. If these singles are the breadcrumbs off the album, then we are more than sure that this crumb trail will lead us to a feast of good Hip hop music!

Linkris The Genius releases the first single off his new KhoiSan Tzu Project.

There will be no rest this Summer for Hip hop artist LinkrisTheGenius as he ventures into creating a new project titled ‘KhoiSan Tzu’ which is set for release in the first quarter of 2018. The new release Gazi’Lam (family, brother, sister, friend, comrade, blood, etc.) is a teaser of what can be expected from this new project.  Gazi’Lam is a laid-back track and it contains elements of: Grime, Futuristic bells and nostalgic Boom Bap sounds. Linkris calls this sound Afrikaaps Grime, a sound which he and the Katalis team of producers has created and will continue to expand on with the release of the Khoisan Tzu project in 2018.

Lindley Heynes, known as the artist LinkrisTheGenius, has been juggling his recent position as co-Producer and co-Host on the Hip hop radio show Headwarmaz on Bush Radio 89.5 FM, his recent venture as Event Organiser and Host of Northern Lights Hip hop and his existing responsibilities as Managing Director of  Katalis Productions, with no time to spare for focusing on creating any new projects of his own. 

Linkris says ‘After pouring so much of myself into the advancement of others, many times even to my own detriment, I have decided to take a break to rejuvenate for 2018. By break, I mean locking myself in the studio, release everything I need to get off my chest and create a masterpiece.’

Lindley Heynes aka Linkris The Genius is a South African Rap artist born and bred on the Cape Flats, South Africa. He uses both the Afrikaans/Afrikaaps and English languages to paint vivid images to tell his story. He has been an activist for Coloured Human Rights for many years on many levels.
Linkris currently has music videos in rotation on major television networks such as: Kyknet, Kyknet&Kie, Channel O, MTV Base, Trace Africa and more. 
In 2017 he was nominated for "Best Afrikaans Rap Single" by the GHOEMA Music Awards.
In 2016 his song Game Change Gazi was #1 on the Hip hop top 20 charts on Good Hope FM.
In 2016 he toured The Netherlands and performed in: Utrecht, Amsterdam and Den Haag as part of the Afrovibes festival.
Linkris has performed nationally in South Africa at big festivals such as: KKNK, Hawston Sea festival, Suidooster Festival, African Hip hop Indaba and many more.
He has been a key component in piecing together and performing in Award-winning theater productions.
Linkris is currently the co-producer and co-host on South Africa's oldest and most highly decorated Hip hop radio show : HeadWarmaz Hip hop show. 
Linkris is also the organizer and host of a monthly Hip hop event titled: "Northern Lights Hip hop Nights" an event that is dedicated to being a platform for other upcoming as well as established Artists in South Africa.
