DJ Cat comes through on Scruniversal here as the young label continues to go from strength to strength early in its existence. This time he serves up some re-edits and reworks of old and rare records from Scru's friends' collections. Up first is 'Roots & Culture' which is a languid funk workout with Prince style vocals bring some libidinous vibes up top while sci-fi synths and raw claps and perc all flesh out the groove. 'Possibelle' then cuts loose on a much more laid back and steamy summer vibe with the sort of chords that have you laying back in the park and staring up at a cloudless sky.

You all probably know Liem "If Only" by know ?! This feel good house track being almost instantly becoming an unifying anthem ! If not you might have heard awesome Eddie Ness "Ombre" we premiered some months ago too. Well LeHult sixth release marks the closing of a circle : Lucky Charmz, the man of its ﬁrst release “Follow Me To Flottbeck Falls” EP, returns to deliver his second full length effort. LHLT006 is the “U Still Coming Over?” EP, a long overdue follow up to his ﬁrst EP : More than anything else, it’s a fresh slice of summer groovers. Opener “Faceless Goat” here instantly delights with it’s majestic opening chords, only to unleash a smashing grandeur of sample fun and lustful grooves. It’s a no-vocals-required killer, rich in texture and yet subtly enchanting. Chord Memory Band is a recent collaboration between Michael Medlycott (from the band Vulture Street Tape Gang) and Dom Bird (BONN co-founder and member of the live disco 4 piece Mitzi).

At the end of 2016, Michael and Dom caught wind of a cave, nestled beneath a sacred mountain, deep in the Australian outback. The rumours described a cave filled with nocturnal animals and ancient flora, but more importantly, a stash of vintage synthesizers and drum machines.

Guided by whispers and caught up in the mystic mystery of it all, the duo set off with a dusty four-track tape recorder in an attempt to capture these mythical cave vibes and place them on a record.

Michael and Dom surfaced several months later, with four recordings and no memory of what had occurred. These recordings became their synergistic ‘Third Eye’ EP – an analogue journey into the spiritual world, with one simple message, “the answer is inside”.
