Wings of the Morning

Linnéa Clark is an emerging liturgist and composer of sacred music and congregational song. Initially trained as a flutist, she received a Bachelor of Arts degree in music and history from Yale University in 2010. She received a Master of Divinity degree from Yale Divinity School and a certificate from Yale's Institute of Sacred Music in 2013.

Clark's liturgical music is rooted in a process of congregational study and community dialogue, encouraging the production of authentic work tailored to worshiping communities yet flexible enough for use in a variety of congregational settings. With Bright Alleluias was commissioned in 2008 by Luther House at Yale; it is an evening eucharist setting affirming God's presence in shadows, doubts, and questions as well as in places of illumination. Here at This Table was commissioned in 2011 by the University Church in Yale as a contemplative Lenten setting of the eucharistic liturgy, though it may be used in any liturgical season; it affirms the call to action and social justice stemming from the communion table.

Clark's liturgical music and hymnody is available for congregational use upon request; commissions are also welcome.

Today, Clark serves as a chaplain, supply preacher, and liturgist while awaiting ordination in the Evangelical Lutheran Church in America (ELCA). She also knits, sings music from the American shape-note tradition, and watches Doctor Who (she's partial to the Tenth Doctor).
