I forgot to upload in twos yesterday! D: So, here's the second half of that double-header. Yet more crap from the project that's consumed 7 years of my life I'll never get back.

Underneath and beyond the jungles of New Tykondrus, lay an ancient civilization's ruins. Well, perhaps not so ancient, but abandoned nonetheless. Several hundred years ago, religious tensions in the area forced the people who populated this ancient city (and center of worship for the God of Stones) to leave everything behind. Ironically, this was not the only reason -- the main reason for the exodus was an earthquake. 

Many say the God of Stones was enraged and shook the earth. Others say he died, and the quake was his spirit fading into the earth once again. Either way, the wolf-tribes that lived in the jungle, and in this ancient city forgot what they'd left behind, as the generations passed. The new religion that had swept the nation had less fire and brimstone after all, and with it, came prosperity.

Of this ancient city, though, all that remains now, are the endless curving passageways, old arches and ornate stone carvings. The stones used to shape this enormous palace were all varying shades of purple, and the color hasn't faded in the hundreds of years it has been abandoned. The earthquake dropped most of the structures underground, and as such, daylight hardly ever reaches the indigo fortress (any Spanish speakers here? I want to know if that was translated properly!) any longer.
Many ancient stone devices remain, to move various doorways and such. A large portion of the ancient fortress-city has been flooded, too, and many of those ancient memories are now lost under the surface of the water.

Fortaleza De Añil

I'm feeling a bit restless, 'cause a busy weekend is upon us, so here, have a bonus song from my project! :V

Up above the ruins of the Fortaleza De Añil ( https://soundcloud.com/leila-wilson-woofle/fortaleza-de-anil ) lays a part of the city that never sunk into the ground. So massive and sprawling was this ancient city of the wolves and their God of Stones that it is built up and across the rolling foothills in the region.

The area is known for its constant earthquakes, which have a tendency to reshape the ruins. There is also volcanic activity, which causes a lot of geysers, some of which are strong enough to shoot all the way from the underground ruins up into the ones on the surface. These often leave behind muddy puddles which turn into quicksand. Making matters worse, are all the ancient mechanisms the wolf-tribes used to navigate this city, some of which are still operational, but have turned deadly after years of going without use.  This is not an area for the faint of heart.

The first time the player enters this above-ground section, they're in hot pursuit of someone who looks like they might just be an old friend (this is also why the song is more focused on emotion, and less on danger.) The area remains important later, as a possible re-emergence of the God of Stones looms.

For this tune, I combined the tune for the underground section with an old tune I wrote when I was much younger. The two actually ended up tying together really well. When the player is above ground, this theme will play, and below ground, the other will. Enjoy!

Finally had time to do a little music once more. For those who don't know, I've been away from home for a few weeks, and hadn't gotten a chance to do much of anything -- even reply to comments!   Anyway, I'm back, have some Elancia Chronicles!  I actually did this song last year, but apparently never uploaded it? More about this song past the jump.

"The cities here are much smaller, and more rough and tumble in nature than what I was used to in Celestion, but I am reminded of the more remote towns in Dascillia by these little, hardy settlements. Some of them may rival the towns back home in size, but we may as well be traversing another planet entirely. Everyone around here drinks so much, and works so hard, just trying to survive under the relentless sun. In the snowy badlands, in the flat desert, even in the river country, all these towns show just how willing folks are to just try and live, despite anything. I guess, in a way, I admire that. I don't even know the name of this town, but I love it already. This is how the rest of the world lives! This is what I've read about in so many books! Maybe I should buy a gun..."

And now for something completely different. With the upcoming re-release of my first novel, I've been working on touching up some of the songs that accompanied it. This is one of many of them that I touched up while my co-author and I rewrote the book. I'll be releasing the book's album sometime in 2025, so stay tuned. This song is the theme of Derrik, one of the characters in my novel, ECO. He's an... interesting person. There's a bit more written about him on the 16 bit version. Either way, I've had this song around since I was little bitty back in '03. I've redone it about 87 times, but I think this one finally feels 'right.'

This song's entirely constructed around a bassline I've had kicking around in my head since I was really really little. It keeps popping up in various places, such as https://soundcloud.com/leila-wilson-woofle/r2bad-future  and probably like 7-8 other songs which I also never did anything with. >_>; It is the bassline that will not die, although it continually ends up in songs that do.
