Recorded almost entirely live in a bedroom, Lionheir's new single What You Want entails the rawness of vintage rock 'n' roll and strong, cutting melodies. 

What You Want was mixed by Byron-based engineer Jordan Power (The Temper Trap/Angus Stone) and is the first installation from Lionheir's album due out later this year. 
 
 Written by Lionheir & Co-produced by drummer/producer Grant Gerathy and Lionheir, the bulk of Dangerous Happiness' songs were written several years ago - except What You Want, which was penned the day before recording and captured in just two takes.

'Waterfall' is the debut single from Australian artist Lionheir, taken from his album Lair.

The track features some of Australia's finest musicians including Lionheir (Paul Appelkamp) on guitars, vocals & percussion, Terepai Richmond on drums & percussion, Oj Newcomb on bass, Connor Fitzgerald on keys, Martha Baartz on Saxaphone, and Shannon Marshall on Trumpet.

Waterfall

Formerly known as alt-folk singer-songwriter Paul Appelkamp, Lionheir has fused warm and provocative lyrics with 50s and 60s rock-pop to create Lair. 

The first single from the album, Waterfall, was released in May this year. The second track, to be promoted with the album’s full release, is Reality - a punchy two-and-a-half minute rock-pop tune with a catchy hook. 

Lair will be available digitally through iTunes, in hard-copy at www.lionheir.com and available at all live shows from September 27th 2012. 

Lionheir will tour with a full band to support the album’s release.

Lionheir is a rock 'n' roll animal known for pushing artistic boundaries. This year has seen him record his second album with a group of killer musicians and engineers.

The album has been co-produced by Lionheir and producer/drummer Grant Gerathy and was mixed by Byron-based engineer Jordan Power, who's mixed for Angus Stone, The Temper Trap and Liam Finn.
