Past The Palms is the joint effort of Los Angeles natives Seb Hall & MoodHay who deliver two sun-drenched mid-tempo house jams that take us on a journey. The melodic waves of emotion on this semi-biographical EP reflect two very talented friends who would rather pull all-nighters in the studio then hit the club. With the right blend of Hall’s crisp drum programming, MoodHay crooning over layers of synths and some acid-lite bass lines they achieve a balance many production duos strive for. They are both two of LA’s best kept secrets, flying just below the radar where they continue to crank out the hits.

From the Lips & Rhythm Family we have a straight-up club remix of Hydrate from boss Chilean producer Noon Do out of Santiago. We also welcome San Francisco-based artist Matt Perkins to the fold who slaps us upside the head with an acid rework of Sunwave. To close out the EP our Parisian brother Yasin Hazim returns with a percussion-laced, chugged-down version of Hydrate, tinged with just the right amount of piano & mystery.

Lips & Rhythm boldly embarks on a new journey into the vast musical universe with the launch of Lips & Rhythm Records, featuring the debut EP of blooming San Diego producer ché la vi.

We're proud to release this record into the wild and share the music of our talented friend and artist. Ever since we've known ché la vi a.k.a. Che Torres he's ripped on guitar and made beats on the side. After receiving great feedback from his unreleased material being played on the radio show we decided to give him the premier release on the label.

ché la vi creates a warm, triumphant sound with a blend of punchy grooves, guitar and tight drum work on title tracks 'Favors' and 'Replace Rhythm'.

The B side features a smooth, low-slung remix from San Francisco duo Bells & Whistles and a raw, main room banger from LA producer RYBO to round it out. We're super excited to showcase such fresh talent with the release of LRR001 and introduce you to the styles of ché la vi!

At our recent Spring Seduction party we had the honor of debuting a very talented cat all the way from Paris who arrived in San Francisco recently with layers upon layers of original work in a laptop tucked under his arm. Formally trained in classical music in his early years and later reeducated in 'The City of Lights' underground dance scene, Yasin played such a refreshing, eclectic live set full of  juggling tempos and strictly original material that blew our minds. Here now is a 45 minute adventure from our smooth ami <3

One of the most ambitious projects from Lips & Rhythm Records to date, Jupiter Liberation Front is both a concept album and a collective with a mission. Formed on a rooftop in Barcelona in the summer of 2015, the group brings together a unique squad of producers, DJs and musicians from the far reaches of planet Earth. Jupiter Liberation Front includes label big bosses, Birds Of Rhythm, the long overdue debut of Barcelona’s Christian Len, Papaduapa of Za! and two of Ibiza’s best-kept secrets (until now) Camilo Miranda and Benicio P.

This cosmic musical union has produced a sun-soaked EP about a journey to the mysterious gas planet. From the dreamy, Balearic Thalassa to a taste of boogie funk on Stranded in Jupiter and an exotic lounge vibe on Gardens of Jupiter, the record is a fusion of many warm sounds that shape a theme best described as islands in space.

Written in the quiet moments of the winter on Ibiza, in Barcelona and on the California coast, this is a smooth, summer gem, fit for any outdoor gathering, whether beneath the rays of the sun or in the glow of moonlight. So come along as we take flight with the sounds of Jupiter Liberation Front…

Birds Of Rhythm rework an incredibly rare and classic tune by visionary composer Yuji Ohno. In the 1960s his music and band took the Tokyo jazz scene by storm. In addition to making knock-out dance floor cuts, Ohno's range of exprimental electronic music, fusion, funk and new wave has laced-up soundtracks to anime films since the late 1970s and beyond.

Hot on the heels of summer, Lips & Rhythm Records is proud to present Escape to the Coast [LRR005], the debut EP from breakout artist @seb-hall-music. The Los Angeles-based producer has spent his life studying music, with the last five years turning his focus to the development of original productions in his custom-designed home studio. From these late-night sessions, his debut EP has risen to the surface, featuring the best of Hall’s dreamy compositions; all played and recorded live, effortlessly blending together influences from house, disco, funk and soul. 

Escape To The Coast rolls along with the breeze, a reflection of Hall’s laidback style from growing up beneath the glow of the southern California sun. The title track sets us up for a musical journey with floating chords rising and falling with a deep beat. Route 1 is a tight percussive number with hints of washed-out surf guitar and punchy low-slung standup bass. On the b-side, Aquarian Dreams is a chill cut, the setting sun on the horizon interpreted through swirling lines of G-Funk synth and a distant guitar lead. Crew Love/Wolf+Lamb artists, @noregularplay, tie up the EP nicely with a warm dance floor rework of Route 1, complete with phat programming from Nick Debruyn and the tight trumpet work of Greg Paulus woven into the mix. 

Seb Hall’s sonically radiant Escape to the Coast is the fifth release on Lips & Rhythm Records.

Brine - The Awakening Destination (Eddie C Winter Moon Remix)

The 8th release from Lips & Rhythm Records arrives hot out of Colombia featuring Bogota-based duo Bruno Anthony & Polinne Moth. Their emotive and delightful productions on this EP reflect a five year partnership rooted in a passion for House music, Jazz and R&B. Recorded with hardware from a classified location in the depths of the city, Espíritu channels a smoothed-out party vibe you'd find on any late night out in Bogota. Funky with a little romance, both Espíritu and Cleototo are sure to rhythmically elevate the dance floor with a touch of warm soul. 

With remixes from Brooklyn-based young gun producer Chuwee and his modular acid interpretation of Cleototo along with Birds Of Rhythm dropping their low-slung rework of Espíritu this project was really a family affair. Bruno & Polinne take the label up to new heights with the melodic and sultry Espíritu just in time for those warm nights.

Charming is a glowing EP, romantic and smooth to the ears and soul. It’s a DeLorean going 88 miles-per-hour back to a timeless era with each passing note. On the title track ‘Charming,’ the swirling saxaphone and floating vocals of 小雨 (Kosame) take us to such a heavily place. While on the B side ‘ Sunday 2:59 AM’ we are hit with lush strings and a tight slapping groove to make us move.
