Welcoming two new names to Viper, Synth System & AL/SO join forces for “City Lights” and “Extra”. Synth System, formerly known as High Maintenance, has been an integral part of the drum & bass scene for countless years, recently launching Synth System & straight away being enlisted for an official remix of Sub Focus’ ‘Last Jungle’. AL/SO, a newer name to the scene, works for Dutch label Korsakov Music.

The first of two singles, ‘City Lights’ also features a third collaborator, Eidna, a vocalist and songwriter who has been steadily on the rise in recent times. ‘City Lights’ is an eclectic, busy number with catchy vocals soaring over classic dancefloor sounds. Upbeat and energetic, the track is a perfect example of what to expect from the collaborative effort of Synth System and AL/SO.

The flipside of the release is ‘Extra’, a fun, space-y dancefloor number that is as fast-paced as it is full of adrenaline. Loud and in your face, the drop is the embodiment of end of the night rave energy, lasers flashing in time with the frenzied beat.

A label proud to be consistently releasing new music from new names, Futurebound certainly knows how to spot hidden talent, one of the key factors behind Viper’s success over the years. Be sure to keep an eye out for more hidden gems from the label before the end of 2021!

Now, finishing off their biggest year to date, V O E deliver the full “Left Unsaid” EP. New tracks like “More Than This” and “Sanity” show off Caroline’s vocal prowess, while “Our Own Way” features Tom on vocals, another in a slew of examples of the multitude of talents wrapped up within the V O E moniker.

Delivering everything from soft ballads to dancefloor destroyers, V O E are nothing short of incredible, and this latest EP goes to show that they are only going from strength to strength. Stay tuned for more from these two as they show no signs of slowing down!

Keeno’s back with a grand gesture. Succeeding his outstanding debut album, “Life Cycle”, the “Futurist” LP soars through sixteen tracks with boundless finesse.

Keeno thrives with his cinematic and orchestral offshoots of drum & bass, silken smooth soundscapes and deep weighty bass.

Opening track “Faithless” sets the scene with elegant and epic string sections jumping into a playful arrangement. With serious drum-work in place vocal talents Oscar Corney, MC Fava and Alice Gasson bring tracks “Lifeline”, “Perspective” and “A Breath” to life with tight harmonies and rich, velvet tones. Keeno hasn’t held back in “Dream Sequence”, “At Twilight” and “Futurism” with majestic grandeur travelling seamlessly through star-lit journeys of sound and space.

The growth and musical virtuosity of this young talent has flourished since signing to Med School back in 2013. By uniting his high-end production skills and classical training in a multitude of instruments Keeno has quenched the thirst of drum & bass lovers across the globe.

Last year Keeno took a leap of faith, deciding to leave his full time education behind to set his sights on what is sure to be a long career ahead in music. Mainframe representing Alpine Drum & Bass big time on this release. 'Connect' sees three of Austria's hottest exports joining forces, with beloved veteran duo Body & Soul on the production, Daxta MC on the vocals and Phentix on the flip side with a pumping remix.

Body & Soul have been defining the game for over a decade now, with releases on Viper, BC Presents, Breakbeat Kaos and legendary Virus Recordings, and they're still far from tired of pushing things forward. Phentix   recently propelled himself on to major players' watchlists, with releases on Critical, Cyberfunk and Citrus getting A-List support all across the scene, from DJ Hype to Noisia. Daxta MC has been hyping the crowds at large scale events such as Rampage, Let it Roll, Hospitality and Ram nights lately, let alone being Camo & Krooked's regular touring MC. 

On 'Connect', Daxta flows in a heavily laid-back, kind of distant manner, adding a nice twist to the track's lyrical theme about crowd and performers connecting to each other. Beginning with dark, lo-fi-sounding fanfares, loosely referring to 80's' classic 8-bit video games, the tune gradually shifts in key and overall sound to finally blow up as Jump-Up infected Dancefloor smasher, with tearing bass sounds propelling around ton-heavy drums, all embossed with that edgy trademark roughness Body & Soul are best known for.

The Phentix Remix even takes it a level deeper. Here again the intro is slightly reminiscent of the Eighties, though rather citing the era's cinematographic sphere by adding some John Carpenter-esque soundscapes on top.  Following a similar transition, the remix ends up as sub bass heavy roller, emitting a uniquely pumping stop-and-go Funk feel.

Descend will keep your bass cravings at bay for weeks on end. Expertly crafted to take the listener on a journey throughout a multidimensional musical landscape, Pythius’ creativity and skill resonates from start to finish. Meticulously blending clean, cutting-edge sound design with fierce bass and his signature drum beats, it’s very clear that Pythius took no shortcuts during the making of Descend. 

The album signifies a progression of Pythius’ artistry, as it touches down on territories previous unchartered by the producer. From aggressive neurofunk, to metal influence, to straight-up synthwave, Descend helps turn a new page for the drum and bass genre.
