Throughout human history and across most native traditions, constant repetitive rhythms and the steady drone of chanting have carried shamans and other spiritual seekers into other dimensions in ecstatic trance. Even today, this music, as ancient as the rocks and wind, provides sacred transport to higher states of well being and bliss. Attaining the Shante Ishta is the goal of this journey. This is the “single eye of the heart," the third eye or wisdom eye of the ancients--the shaman's eye. It is the place where the individual soul attunes to the collective, universal heartbeat that unites us all.

Shaman's Eye brims with multi-layered currents of sound and chanting woven around a steady stream of theta rhythms. These provocative rhythms are designed to tap into our own ancestral depths and call us into the secret worlds of trance. Each of these musical landscapes is alive with its own distinctive spirit energy. As they carry us forward they become the vehicle for our journeys.

In the true spirit of musical alchemy, Amani Friend blends his technical skills with his innate understanding of the power of sound and vibration to heal and transform. With deep reverence, he weaves the strands of pan-global percussive and melodic expressions, sacred chants, and the atmospheres of nature around the steady heartbeat of trance to inspire inner journeys.

“Stand With Us to Bless the Waters” is our prayer of solidarity for the Lakota Sioux Nation, & all the Water Protectors who have converged in North Dakota Standing Rock Reservation at the Dakota Access Pipeline. This is the first time in centuries that all the indigenous nations of Turtle Island (America) have come together in unity & guardianship for our Earth. This unprecedented tribal convergence has been catalyzed by the pipeline, but is representative of something much larger & more profound than a protest. 

In support for the situation in North Dakota, Amani Friend (Liquid Bloom) and Summit Jaffe (Numatik) were both separately inspired to create music for water and prayer.  Coincidentally, the two tracks were both finished at the same time on fall equinox and they were also written in the same key, making it ideal to interweave them into a one unified piece of music. While sitting in the New Mexico Hot Springs after Unify festival, Amani and Summit had the inspiration to curate this remix album. Producers from all over the world, like Earth Cry, Mystral, Soulacybin, Martin’s Garden, Ecometric, Gumi, and Twin Shape added their unique psychedelic downtempo flavors. Native elders like Black Fox Pomani, John Ball Running Eagle, and Yona FrenchHawk imbued the music with intentional water prayers. United together, we humbly offer this medicinal musical journey in support and healing. Water is Life!

About Feminine Medicine™
The Feminine Medicine™ project is a series of collaborative albums and stage shows I launched in 2015. Every song on the album is a collaboration between me and another female artist. 

I set out to bring music to the dance floor that showcases the "feminine" aspect through many expressions and faces of the feminine. The music expresses a harmony of both masculine and feminine frequencies that is both danceable and sacred co-created with some of my favorite female artists. I believe this music shows how "feminine" melodic textures and vocals can integrate with traditionally "masculine" bass frequencies to create songs that are harmonically transcendent of any existing genre.   

I have been writing, producing and performing the Feminine Medicine™ music for the last 5 years, collaborating with over 30 female musicians, vocalists, and dancers to showcase stage shows at major festivals including Lucidity Festival, Beloved Festival, and Enchanted Forest Festival. 

Artists showcased on Feminine Medicine™ music so far include: 
Heather Christie, Imagika Om, Liquid Love Drops, Ixchel Prisma, Eden Amadora, Amma Li Grace of Entheo, Tara Divina. 

Volume 1 was released Feb 2017. A remix album was released in 2018 featuring remixes from Govinda, Living Light, Luke Mandala, Ra So, Spoken Bird, Wu Wei, Joe Muscatello, and Pattern Disrupt.

Danza del Viento meaning "Dance of the Wind" invokes the powerful forces that carved
out the great canyons of the southwestern United States and the sacred red rock
country of the Sinagua, Hopi and Diné where Poranguí has spent much of his life.
It is a song to the winged nation and our ancestors whose spirits continue to guide us
upon the whispering winds. Sung in multiple languages including Quechua, Lakota,
Spanish and Portuguese, Danza del Viento captures the cross-cultural spirit of
Poranguí as a Pan-American artist.
