though I shall never forget
a certain pair of eyes lit by the fire above,
to whom they belonged
I still cannot say.
They were like ponds in the lap of the Snow Mountains.

While immersed in the depths of love,
I am always alone, but
one today in the future,
I will be seated cross-legged before the Snow Mountain
waiting in samadhi for you.
