Next up on Viper Recording is our very own Jack Mirror. Since 2017 Jack Mirror has been carving his name a little deeper into the scene with each and every release. It’s not a secret that he could be the next up and comer about to blow. Jack Mirror’s ability to blend the dark, rowdy underbelly of drum and bass music with a sing-a-long hand-in-the-air accessibility has earned him some serious support from the likes of UKF, Radio 1 and FabricLive. After the huge success of his set dominating beauty ‘Junipero’ Jack Mirror is back to bless us with another glorious piece of music.

‘With You’ effortlessly secretes a cool, understated lure. The track’s forward chugging back-bone is delicately layered with touches of modulated button-like bleeps, and a subtle, ever-present, rumbling low end. Providing an inescapable hook is flowanastasia's gorgeously smooth vocal which brightly juxtaposes the laidback, moody musical elements, skillfully extenuating each component. 

For us though the true beauty of ‘With You’ lies in its deceptive simplicity, it’s the lack of over-layering here which makes this truly special, with the percussion, melody and vocal each given the space to show how perfectly executed they are. ‘With You’ is crystal clear in it’s musicality and has an unquestionable elegance which proves you can stay classy while sporting your bass face.

The Australian DnB scene is on fire right now with acts like Ekko & Sidetrack, Blaine Stranger, V O E and Solomon France (FKA SØL) all regularly tearing down the dance and producing flames in the studio. What’s more all of these awe-inspiring artists are proudly flying the flag for Viper Recordings.To further showcase their talents we are pulling together the Aus team to all feature on the ‘Wizards Of Aus EP’
There’s nothing sinful about loving this dancefloor beast from Blainstranger and Nü. ‘Sin’ is the third release from our Wizards of Aus series and brings with it all the unpredictable fun and frolics of a fair-gorund waltzer. Luring you into a false sense of security the intro begins with sparse twinkling hits backed by low-rising, warm pads, when Nü’s gorgeous vocals kick in all roads point to a liquid-tinged tech roller. But wait. The intro builds momentum, the vocals reach crescendo and the drop reveals the track’s true, floor destroying intentions. Hard-hitting, party-pushing jump up is the order of the day, with a punching synth-led melody that is sure to get those summer festival crowds jumping.

Dispatch Recordings is proud to present “Short Cuts”, an album project created by two long-term friends and favourites of the label. With numerous solo releases and their previous collaboration on the “Most Violent Year” album series, NC-17 and Dauntless will be well known to fans of Dispatch. When we were approached with new collaborative material, the “Short Cuts” project was born.

Drawing on 2000s-era DnB influences, they set out to create something tech-influenced whilst maintaining musicality and that much-needed funk. The pair found a unique creative flow that allowed their styles to gel and enhance each other’s productions.

Dauntless and NC-17 channelled the energy of those early days into an energetic and future-thinking album, citing many legends of that prolific era of drum and bass as influences. Benefitting from a modern approach to mixdown and structure, the resulting album is a varied and multi-layered representation of their shared artistic vision.
