Love International and Test Pressing commemorate yet another cracking festival with the latest instalment in their collaborative compilation series for their LIXTP label. For The Sound Of Love International #006 they’ve chosen Jay Donaldson aka Palms Trax as their selector. 

The Berlin-based Brit launched his career in 2013 with releases on various labels which led to headline slots and globetrotting gigs from South America to Australia. He’s a regular at Love International, having spun at the first one in 2015, playing at Barbarella’s for an RA event.

The scope of this new record reflects the eclecticism of Donaldson’s DJ sets and his long-running ‘Cooking With Palms Trax’ NTS radio show and parties. Comprising of cuts collected on his worldwide trips, it’s a magical mind-blowing selection. Jumping between generations and genres, yet all coming together as a wonderful whole. As document it definitely demonstrates the joys of real record shops and physical digging.

Based in Paris, BRI is a true music enthusiast who has shaped his style over the past decade. Ten years of unforgettable parties, countless sets both recorded and enjoyed, and, most importantly, invaluable connections—from the La Chinerie community to his mates with whom he co-founded the label Smiling Phases.

Smiling Phases perfectly captures his mature musical vision and now extends into his work in graphic design. BRI has developed a diverse collection, ranging from warm-up tunes to peak-time anthems, featuring rare vinyl finds, beloved classics and fresh new tunes.

His sound is heavily influenced by the 90s progressive house scene, and more recently by the UK scene. Besides the musical style, the primary elements BRI aims to convey through his mixes are emotion and sensitivity.

Liquid Palms Radio w/ BRI

For the second installment of the Awk Cast in 2025, we bring you the wiggly waves of @hassan94,  co-founding member of the wonderful @worthwhiletangents crew. 

In this two hour mix, the Iraqi born, UK raised and Berlin based selector takes us on a deep and varied dive into his sonic world. Seamlessly jumping between lots of styles that are enjoyably hard to pigeonhole, every tune feels perfectly placed and adds to the on point levels of subtle sass and playfulness on display here. 

Wiggle to these waves, enjoy the spring sun, and think of many more fun wiggles to come!

Kicking off our VA series we’re pleased to present Frequencies Vol. 1. Six brilliant artists
covering a variety of dancefloor moods and energies.

The Belgian duo A.G. & Kompo have delivered an extended slice of punchy minimal
techno for the A1, with elements of tech house and progressive leaning synths scattered
throughout. David Agrella’s welcome return to Seven Hills sees him developing the late
morning atmosphere titled Amfexa, utilising a groovy bassline, classy pads and some
expertly organic drum programming.

On the B side the Hamburg based Rupert Marnie and our beloved Dutch friends Young
Adults add a darker tinge to this release. Parapsychic is a gurgling meditation; very
minimal which allows the drums and alien sounding bass sounds to punch hard through
the mix. Closing us off is Exothermic, a monstrous, almost hellish bit of deep tech house.
Lots of textures, a rubber elastic kick drum, and a hypnotic, groaning vocal which sounds
as if it was dredged up from the underworld.
