As I continue to work out the logistics of my official release I wanted to give you these sounds to let you in on some of the work that I have been doing. I think that its important that you see this first phase of production so that you can truly appreciate the more polished songs when they become available.

Dash, is a Bahamian singer/songwriter born February 22nd 1987. After completing Aquinas College in 2005, Dash made the decision to pursue a career as a recording artist. He spent the next few years recording, performing, traveling and experimenting with different genres until he achieved an artistic breakthrough in the summer of 2010. After listening to Soul Makossa (performed by Mano Dibango, a saxophonist from Cameroon), Dash became captivated by its cross-cultural appeal and sought to echo this influence in his subsequent recordings.

Within a few months, Dash began crafting what would eventually become his debut album, ELECTRIC CIRCUS. It is a loose concept album built around the encounters of a nomadic band of gypsies, who on their travels expose the world to their circus talents. The album seeks to represent an expansive range of emotions that lie between introspection and aggression. Electric Circus also embraces the vibrant spirit of various world cultures in its themes, marrying those influences with modern music production techniques. The album’s alternative/pop sound is propelled by pulsating tribal drums, swirling electro synths, bombastic bass lines and funky staccato grooves. 

Much like the circus, Dash is an interesting and uniquely polished talent, driven by his own complexities as a performer. Personified in his work as a commanding ring master; he skillfully fuses R&B, Pop, Funk & Disco styles into a kaleidoscope of sound. He expresses an emotive writing style that paints vivid interpretations of love and desire with equal sensitivity and passion. Vocally, he possesses a nimble yet sophisticated tenor that rumbles smoothly in his lower register, yet soars with controlled abandon in his silky falsetto. 

The album’s first single, THE GREATEST SHOW is an intricately written urban/pop romper that invites listeners to be entertained by “the greatest show on earth!” Since its release in spring of 2011 it has received praise from both local and international media outlets. In a review for local magazine eLife242, writers of TheCSPerspective tagged Dash as a promising Bahamian talent, further regarding the single as “playful yet haunting”. The single has also been hailed as a “sleek and sexy Top40 Jam” by Art Nouveau Magazine, an Atlanta based publication who praised Dash for his innovation, noting that he "calls inspiration from greats like Prince & Stevie Wonder" while maintaining his own distinct character. The Greatest Show has also received notoriety for its lyrical content, after being awarded a semi-finalist placement in the International Songwriting Competition. 

Disco Gypsy, a disco/funk offering is projected as the next single for pop radio while Na Na Na Na will be geared towards urban radio.
