Opening with Peter Brown's explosive "Crank It Up," the show immediately established its intention to deliver serious dancefloor ammunition from the first beat. Frantique's "Strut Your Funky Stuff" followed, proving that when disco was done right, it was an unstoppable force of nature. The tracklist read like a who's who of disco's golden age, featuring both celebrated legends and criminally underrated gems that deserve their moment in the spotlight.

Evelyn Champagne King's powerful rendition of "Aquarius/Let The Sunshine In" brought that unmistakable vocal prowess that defined the era's best singers. This week's Liquid Sunshine demonstrated the beautiful evolution of disco, proving that classic tracks can find new life and fresh audiences through skillful re-editing and contemporary production techniques. Opening with Bobby D'Ambrosio featuring Michelle Weeks' "Moment of my Life" in Dave Lee's stunning Re-Organ-Isation, the show immediately established how modern house sensibilities can enhance rather than overshadow disco's essential soul. Casbah 73's "Love Saves The Day" followed, maintaining that perfect balance between reverence for the original and innovation for today's dancefloors.

The inclusion of Viola Willis' "If You Could Read My Mind" showcased how timeless vocals can transcend any production era, while Dan Hartman's "Relight My Fire" reminded listeners why some songs become eternal anthems. Debbie Jacobs' "Don't You Want My Love" brought that essential feminine energy that defined so much of disco's best moments. Inner Life featuring the incomparable Jocelyn Brown on "Ain't No Mountain High Enough" was pure vocal perfection, proving that some voices are simply untouchable regardless of the backing track.

Teddy Pendergrass' "Don't Leave Me This Way" added serious soul power to the mix, while Carol Stanton's "Young Hearts Run Free" captured the liberation spirit that made disco more than just music—it was a movement. Chaka Khan's "I'm Every Woman" was an obvious highlight—a track so powerful it sounds fresh in any context or era. Anita Ward's "Ring My Bell" got the Pontchartrain Edit treatment, transforming a disco classic into something that feels both nostalgic and completely current. The Joey Negro touches were particularly inspired, with his Sweet Music Mix of The O'Jays' "I Love Music" and Funk In The Music Mix of Patti LaBelle's "Music Is My Way Of Life" demonstrating why he's considered one of the finest disco re-edit artists working today.

 The show closed with Danny Krivit's edit of Salsoul Orchestra's "Salsoul Rainbow," a perfect choice that honored one of disco's most important labels while showcasing how respectful editing can breathe new life into classic material.

The house-influenced approach worked brilliantly, adding four-on-the-floor power without sacrificing any of disco's essential warmth and humanity. Every edit felt purposeful rather than gratuitous, enhancing the original tracks' strengths while making them speak to contemporary ears. This was curation at its finest— respecting the past while keeping the music alive and relevant for new generations of dancers and dreamers. The seamless blend of classic disco soul with modern house energy created something that felt both timeless and completely of the moment.
