Liquiform Showcase Series Drop 50: Danox

After a short hiatus, our Showcase Series returns with Bristol based, Neuro focused DJ & Producer - Mutagen.

It was only a dozen years into his journey on our sphere before Rhys uncovered the glowing canvas of Drum & Bass. Although kick-starting his underground palette with Jungle, Rhys eventually found his way to the darker side of DnB through hearing the work of Ed Rush & Optical, Noisia and Scottish duo - Konflict. 

“Not the first but Noisia - Diplodocus was probably the most influential track of my life.”

Holding residencies for Toxictek and K-tek Soundsytems, calling upon his alias Mutagen - the dBs Bristol student has sets at Bristek and Money Madness under the belt too. 

A combination of Hip-Hop, Heavy Metal, Tekno & Hardcore is responsible for creating a unique synthesis of influences which Rhys cleverly exploits in his own music. The output of Eatbrain, Blackout and Virus Recordings also play a big role in the techniques Rhys incorporates. Obscure sound design and clean mixdowns are the main focus when it comes to Production coupled with heavy and experimental styles.

With tracks forthcoming on cardinal labels - Korsakov, Beast Music and two others which are under wraps for now, it’s no doubt Mutagen is a name you can expect to hear a lot about this year.

Straight out of the Wirral, we are blessed to have Indigo Kidda step up for the 52nd edition of the Showcase Series.

Once again we've been busy saucing the finest dubplates around to put together a super tasty various artists EP. Outsauced Pt.2 is the second in this series and we are very excited to present fresh music and new names to the label.

Firstly we welcome the prolific Zero T, who has crafted a bubbly, Bristol, bongo roller called 'On The M.I.C'.
Bad boy duo Genic have teamed up with man like Trakker to deliver one of the greatest of sauces: 'Sweet Chilli'.
Local Bristol talent Objectiv has been so busy making west country wobble that he may have been a bit distracted resulting in 'Burnt Toast'.
And finally, we welcome another one of our favourite Ukrainian producers, Dub Head, who has served up some absolute swag with 'Your Style'.

All of these tunes have been carefully selected to inject maximum vibes and saucy fun for the dance.

Brighton based artist, Cadence is known for her trademark style which mainly focuses on the dark, rolling, more technical side of drum and bass. This comes from influences from Artists such as Philth, Kyrist & The Sauce along with labels such as Sofa Sound, Flexout & Dispatch.

Having been involved in the local drum and bass scene for a number of years, Cadence only started her djing journey in the summer of 2019. In that time she’s become well known in the Brighton music scene and has become resident to some of the bigger local events; such as Multifunction, Motive & Strategy.
