Ich freue mich so sehr auf dein Set im Polyester!!!

It's been a while since I uploaded a set on my Souncloud page. Last year I was quite busy with the start of my master’s program and took some time for other things during the lockdown (such as finally read more!  ¯\_(ツ)_/¯ ). In the last weeks I got back to music stuff and tried to record a classic Darko-Set, which I probably would have played live in a similar way. I really hope you enjoy the journey and that it can conjure up a bit of festival and club feeling in your living room.

I'm excited to see what will happen this year, and hope that we all don't lose sight of the beautiful enjoyable things around us, that we can be damn thankful for every day. Even if, at the same time, I can understand very well, that a lot of frustration and gloom has spread in a lot of us. These are strange times and many things are unfortunately so unfair, and yet, somehow I also believe that there are beautiful sides in all the things that happen, too. 
I like to have this sentence in my mind: It’s always a question of perspective. <3

It was supposed to be a rainy festival. But anyways, good old sun came out to listen to my gig :)
Still feeling overwhelmed by this weekend at Lusatia Festival. Had the most fun with the Ram Schakl family, my Mystic Tales crew and so many of my beloved friends who came from all over Germany to go creazy altogether.

Hitze, Staub & ganz viel Liebe.

Es war mir eine Freude am Sonntag auf dem Firespace für euch zu spielen. Ich habe versucht meinen Sound zu finden der sich in die Mittagshitze schmelzen sollte und den ich vor allem mit dem Firespace verbinde, einem so schönen, liebevollen und verspielten Ort auf der Fusion. Es wurde organisch, hypnotisch, treibend mit vielen Drums und viiiieeeel Bass. Hört selber...
Ich habe das erste Mal mit vier Decks gespielt, etwas was ich schon lange anstrebe, einem neuen Setup um der Kreativität im Mixing noch mehr Spielraum zu geben. Wie so jedes erste Mal, läuft da halt nicht alles ganz so glatt :D Es hat, naja, fast alles geklappt. Verzeiht mir das Anfangsrauschen der Aufnahme und die MIDI-Probleme…einmal wollte der Bass einfach nicht rauskommen :D
Aber ich dachte mir: Live ist Live- raus damit! :)

Danke an @neobeo, schön dich kennengelernt zu haben und vor allem danke für das schöne Möwengeschnatter während deines Soundchecks, die sind bei mir am Ende des Sets mit drauf gelandet :D Hehe. Ups

Heat, dust & lots of love.

It was my pleasure to play for you at Firespace on Sunday. 

I've been trying to find a sound that melts into the midday heat and that I associate with Firespace: such a beautiful, loving and playful place at Fusion. It became organic and hypnotic with lots of drums and soooo much bass.

I played four decks for the first time, something I've been wanting to try for a long time, a new setup to enable even more creativity in mixing. As with every first time, things didn’t go exactly as planned. :D Well, almost everything worked out, but forgive me for the initial hissing of the recording and the MIDI problems... the bass just didn't want to come out at one point. :D
But I thought to myself: live is live, just roll with it! :)

A thousand thanks to the Firespace Crew, TomNova and Sarah Bass for lending me the controller <3.

Thanks Neobeo, it was nice to met you, and above all, thanks for the beautiful seagulls chattering during the soundcheck. They ended up on my set in the end :D Hehe

Lastly, thank you very much Stephan Zovsky for mastering. <3

After a sunny trip to warm Miami to see Magician on Duty, today we head all the way back to the south of Bavaria. In Passau, Lisa Luka welcomes us with her danceable interpretation of her Afterhour. But more on that later.

We came across Lisa Luka through our friend https://soundcloud.com/maria-theresia-von-eberg, who highly recommended her to us. What can we say? In one word: captivating. Her sound focuses mainly on the dancefloor. In terms of tempo as well as in the transporting mood. With this sound, no leg can stand still. And yes, that's exactly what we need in these icy temperatures outside.
Her mix is a fabulous blend of laid-back and exceedingly sun-filled organic dance music with a touch of deepness. After just a few minutes, you can't stop smiling. Even better, because you lose yourself in the Lisa-Lukas‘chen sound cosmos in the blink of an eye. You easily forget all the problems around you plus you will be teleported back to the festival season without any detours. 😊...wonderful. 

As the set progresses, it even picks up more and more speed, but without going too over the top.  After all, we are still at an afterhour. Although some like it wild. But not here. Although maybe a little bit. But that's a matter of opinion.  She skilfully combines in her story different subgenres of house, deep house, techno and dark disco music to a coherent journey in the end.

In addition to the mix, we didn't miss the opportunity to ask Lisa a few questions that we don't want to withhold from you.

➥ What are your musical influences? What is your musical background? 
 
I just don't want to and can't commit myself to that, because I rarely think in genres or choose my tracks accordingly. I simply listen to and play what I like or what I feel, and that can really be ANYTHING.  Mostly I like it groovy, cheeky and with a nice rolling bassline. In my sets you can also find a lot of vocals and guitars, but I can neither sing nor play guitar. :D What inspired and influenced me a lot on my musical journey were the endless nights at Kater Blau about 10 years ago, I would love to turn back time! 
 
➥ What do you think makes a good afterhour? 

Well, it's definitely having lovely people around you, the vibe just has to be right :) Apart from that, I love to dance a bit more at afterhours, so good music is super important to me! It can be a bit of everything, a few old tunes that make you nostalgic as well as tracks that you might not otherwise listen to and then discover and connect with at that very afterhour.
 
➥ What thoughts would you like to share with us about your mix?
 
Don't forget to go home :) Even the best afterhours come to an end and at some point you don't miss anything anymore! It's best to leave when it's at its best.


Fasten your seatbelts!  Because a journey awaits you that is just made for an afterhour.

Als ich nach Monaten der Vorbereitungszeit das erste Mal am Donnerstag Abend in der Saloppen Katatonie stand und sie live&in Farbe in Betrieb gesehen habe bin ich vor Freude in Tränen ausgebrochen und @kotterzuer Basti um den Hals gefallen. Es war unglaublich zu sehen, wie alles, was wir an Liebe und Arbeit in dieses Projekt gesteckt haben auf einmal auf Rädern steht und fährt....und wieeeeeee Oida!!! hahahaa.... als ich dann am Ende des Festivals auch noch in dieser total verrückten Saloppen spielen durfte war ich auf jeden Fall ziemlich happy.

Ich bin überglücklich über das, was wir geschafft und geschaffen haben und möchte einfach nur Danke dafür sagen dass wir gemeinsam diese Utopie zur Realität gemacht haben!

 Es war ultra magisch!!!

Viel Spaß beim Anhören vom Set und in Erinnerungen schwelgen!

MUSIC
Lisa Filou likes moody basslines, melodic breaks, sexy vocals and some quite nasty drops. Her approach to making music is very sensitive, thoughtful and context driven which is why her sets take you on a unique journey every time.

STORY
After discovering a passion for electronic music while living in Paris, curiosity for more brought Lisa to the techno capital Berlin in 2016. There she tangled paths with her music and artist collective Ram Schakl. Since her debut in 2018, she played the floors and stages of some of Europe‘s finest clubs and festivals. 
In 2020 and as a new projects, she started producing and founded the DJ duo ELIXIR together with Lex Ring of Ring & Dorf. She joined the Mystic Tales agency in 2021.
