“brown paper bag” is the first song in the twelve chapter musical story of my life.

Whether protecting me from hyperventilating after a race or being my only friend during high school lunch, the brown paper bag has always been by my side, literally and figuratively.

This song is the beginning of my journey. The 12 songs and 3 EP’s coming out in 2023 are the road map of my life, through both emotional and mental health challenges.  Each single pulls back the curtain a bit more, and I’m so excited to share each piece with you.

I hope my music can help people by showing that no one is alone and that everyone faces obstacles.

Lisa’s first single of the year, “Crushing on Straight Girls”, will be released June 7th in celebration of Pride month. This song playfully showcases the idiosyncrasies of exploring bisexuality through an anthemic rock n roll lens. Her recent releases have seen placements on official playlists, and landed on the Shazam and Apple Music charts. With 2024 in full swing, nothing can stop Lisa.

"DAMAGE CONTROL" the EP is Lisa Heller's second EP of 2023. The title track is the story of Lisa realizing - and accepting - her own faults, but also of finding solace in the idea that even the worst case scenarios can be overcome.

Swinging for hte Fence

This is the first song off of my debut EP, "The Lisa Heller Project". After working with a label on several electro-pop releases, I realized following the industry rules (commercial sound, heavy makeup and hair) just wasn’t for me. But being independent for this project, I finally feel free. I’ve been able to hone in on a much more vulnerable sound than I ever thought I could. Focused on vocals and piano, this raw sound and feel are intertwined with my personal struggles with anxiety, isolation and uncertainty. I’ve gone to great depths to share a part of myself in each of the songs. I am so excited to release this new music, with videos to follow! "Figure It Out" is about, well, figuring myself out and growing up.

“Closure” is the third single off of Lisa Heller's debut EP, The Lisa Heller Project. Lisa says "it's about wanting closure but not really".

East coast born and raised Lisa Heller started writing music at the age of 13 in her bedroom as a creative outlet for her anxiety. While still in high school, Lisa quickly gained a small local following of fans around her CT hometown after placing in national songwriting competitions and gaining support of local radio and newspapers. Released from her college dorm room, her anthemic debut single "Hope" reached over 1.5M+ views on YouTube. With further releases, she caught the attention of outlets like Huffington Post, started playing to thousands on the east coast college circuit, and made her SXSW debut.

In late 2018, Lisa moved to Los Angeles and was quickly pulled into following the music industry “rules”. This led to her release of a series of commercial electro-pop singles. But then, at a high school convention, she played a new song solo on piano that she had written about depression called “Deep End,” and the audience’s emotional response spoke volumes to her. Lisa soon realized she needed to hone in on her raw, authentic sound...

Then, The Lisa Heller Project came to life. Consisting of a four song EP and four experimental music videos, the project features piano-centric production and poignant lyrics. Track list: 1. “Figure It Out,” 2. “Pulling Away,” 3. “Closure,” and finally, 4. “Deep End”.

Lisa Heller speaks loudly about the unspoken. Her music is an unfiltered reflection of her experiences, and although she’s only 5’2” her soaring voice resonates with thousands globally. 

Originally from a small town in Connecticut, Lisa has traveled the world opening for artists like Yung Gravy, COIN, Echosmith, Hippocampus, Misterwives, Chelsea Cutler, Christian French and Bryce Vine.
