In a previous life he was a resident at Body & Soul in New York, alongside Danny Krivit, Francois K and Joe Claussell, but his musical orientation has changed and he now plays very different music from back in those days, regularly guesting at Cocktail d'Amore. He has been playing spectacular New Wave and Industrial sets recently and it will be a great fit for the intimate dance floor of Sameheads. This is gonna be a bit special, so don't miss it.

As always, we'll bring an E&S mixer to the party to make the most of Sameheads' brand new sound system.

Andi Hanley live dj excerpt- 4th Birthday of Dancing For Mental Health @ Sameheads

Veterok is the band from Moscow that named after the unique Soviet heater ("Light Breeze") which some locals used as a hair dryer in the old days. So the purpose of our musical collective is to warm the icy hearts and souls. Sometimes people really need it in spite of they do not realize this. 

At the gigs we do not only play musical instruments, sing and dance (for each show we prepare a special program) we also use hypnosis techniques developed by the secret KGB healers (please google Kashpirovsky and Chumak). Of course we all love the tune of the incredible sexiest polish girl Danuta. She made too much for us and for all world music.   

The band Veterok was formed by Petr Chinavat, Moscow musician, dj and coowner of the record store DiG:

"Snegovich is the word I heard from the Serbian guy when I was with my familly on the beach in Greece. He saw my son. The skin of my boy was fully covered by white sunblock. Actually Serbian guy wanted to say Russian word "Snegovik" (which means Snowman) but he forgot how to spell correctly. So it's the birth of the new word. For Russian ears it sounds quite funny.

Upcoming Premiere from Rambal Cochet aka Volta Cab with his super dope EP on the wicked label Dark Leader. This track is full of groove and compliments the other two tracks on the EP which are more sinister and punchy.

This month, Saint Petersburg producer Volta Cab unleashes three tracks of shadowy dance goodness under the name Rambal Cochet. The new moniker is Cab’s persona for producing Goa Disco, a 4-on-the-floor, dark goa-influenced dance music that clearly embraces the best releases from labels like Wax Trax and Nettwerk.

The first track “Afro Express” moves your feet with a bouncy tribal house feel, then takes you to the next level with swirling psychedelic synth lines. Things get very energetic with “Haunted Powder Mind”. Its sinister undertones will haunt you and the punchy-driving groove with bring the dance floor to a frenzy. Finally the B-side brings us “Ottoman Empire” A middle eastern soaked EBM number that reminds us all that the dance is rooted in ancient ritual.

One of the East’s most sought-after producers, Cab (real name Konstantyn Isaev), has already proven he can work in genres as varying as dub and classic house, but this 3-song 12 inch coming out on Dark Leader Records show he can invent them too.

Studio wizard The Emperor Machine is back with more of his brilliantly inventive and colourful tracks as he joins the Skint family.

The UK artist, born Andy Meecham has long been dazzling dance floors with his synth heavy, tough edged and psyched-out disco beats. He has released solo as The Emperor Machine for labels like D.C. Recordings, Internasjonal and Southern Fried Records and has a long and revered history as part of Chicken Lips, and before that Bizarre Inc. He makes truly rugged club music with sci-fi influences and killer basslines that never fail to get the club in a sweat and he now brings all his prodigious talents to his new home at Skint.

This joining of musical forces seems to have been an inevitable outcome for imprint and artist, as label founder and creative director Damian Harris says "When they come to write the story of Skint Records & Andy Meecham – ‘Don’t Give up on Love’ - should be the title. ‘I always wanted to sign you’ I said. ‘I always wanted to be signed to Skint’ he said. 20 years on those dreams became reality. We met on a post by our mutual friend Erol Alkan. Facebook can’t be all bad if it facilitated this match made in dance floor heaven."

Here he serves up three versions of new single ‘Function.’ It is an epic ten-minute masterpiece with cosmic chords and corrugated basslines that jerk your body. Hip swinging claps and timeless disco percussion pump the groove while the expansive synths bring the heat.

The excellent Warehouse Mix is a real throwback jam with big piano chords hammering away and getting hands in the air as the off-kilter drums bounce below. It’s feel good, timeless music that is widely appealing and hugely effective.

Finally, the Version mix is a loose limbed boogie-funk bomb. The slippery lead synth takes you on a journey as the drums twist and turn and the whole thing exudes soul and colour that will light up any party. The EP also includes a series of DJ re-edit tools that focus variously on a dub, synth, percussion and warehouse version.

As ever, The Emperor Machine has cooked up the sort of dance floor magic he is so well loved for.

03 Vox Low - What If The Symbols Fall Down (Pilooski Floating Dub)

Young firestarter Kendal lands on Dischi Autunno with his second release, a 4-track elevated burner of contemporary dance music with a distinctive, melodic take on 80's and 90's electronic tropes. Opener 'Disturbo' blends prime-time piano riffs with insistent breakbeats and uplifting melody. Inspired by horror legend John Carpenter, 'Intacto' takes us further into the wormhole, late 80's new-wave sensibilities in the punchy low-end refreshed by modern production techniques and a euphoric synth line giving a nod to peak-energy trance state dance music. Heading into the B-side, we're treated to more of Kendal's fine ear for melody and progression with 'Moresko', a meandering tale that allows rhythm and pattern to build and fall away, all the while never losing sight of the release's hallmark uplifting energy. Closing proceedings is the strut and swagger of 'Ritmo Fatale'.
