You Know.

When I was kid I loved reading comic books. The issues I enjoyed the most were the ones that told a heroes origin story. This album is my “origin story”. While I’m no hero, I do have a story to tell and my story was shaped by four events that all happened…in 1993.:

* Death of my mother.
* Falling in love with music.
* Viewing pornographic material for the first time.
* Giving my life to Christ.

Each song on the album will be told through the lens of these four events and give listeners a peak into what shaped me.

SIDE A is set in 1993 and touches on dealing with the death of my mother (“Mountains”), falling in love with music and exploring my musical tastes (“Nothing But A ‘G’ Thang” & “Melodies”), and hearing the gospel for the first time (“Redemption Song” & “Never Knew Him”)

SIDE B, If Side A is the “Cause”, Side B is the “Effect” and is set in the present.  It explores me being aware of the many sins in my life (including Pornography) and shows me maturing, growing, and walking out my faith (“Mirror” & “No Flex Zone”).  It also shows how pornography has warped my view of love now that I’m in a relationship (“Made of Love”). And lastly the album concludes with me accepting my call to make God honoring music (“Final Frontier”)

BONUS TRACK – This song shows where I’m at currently as an independent artist and vents some of my frustrations.


Nothing But A 'G' Thang


I hit the ground hard, but I don’t stay there.
I rise with more fire than I had before.
Every fall sharpens my instincts and deepens my strength.
I don’t fear the drop; I trust the climb that follows.

I step into my own timing. I grow in the soil meant for me.
I don’t rush my unfolding, and I don’t shrink for anyone else’s comfort.
I bloom with the colors that belong to me alone.
My path is my own, and I walk it without comparison.

I treasure the empty spaces that make my life feel whole.
I honor the quiet that holds my clarity.
In the pause between choices, I hear my true voice.
The gap becomes my grounding, the silence my teacher.

I release what I cannot shape. I let the inevitable move through me.
I stop fighting battles that were never mine to win.
I free my energy from what refuses to change.
Grace meets me when I stop gripping the ungrippable.

I honor impermanence as a companion, not a threat.
I welcome the truth that nothing stays the same.
I loosen my attachment to how things were and soften toward how things might be.
I stand alive inside the fleeting moment, fully awake, fully present.

I rise. I unfold. I honor the pause.
I surrender. I transform.
And I rise again, brighter than before.
