I listened this piece again and reminded me my father that he died 9 years ago. I felt a confession of feelings in this piece.

This is the third and final movement of my Coming To America Concerto.  It's about my Grandparents arrival into New York harbor after a long ocean-crossing journey, escaping persecution in Russia.  Imagine the anxiety and the exhilaration of seeing the Statue of Liberty, and coming finally into a new homeland to begin one's life anew.

The Arrival

This is originally an old folksong from Serbia and the Balkan-region. Signe Førre has made a new arrangement to this song with a more modern feeling with electric guitar and drum solo in the middle of the song and she has written new parts to the music.

 Signe Førre is a double bassist, singer and composer from Norway who loves to discover folk music from different parts of the world. 

Signe Førre Kvartett is a Norwegian group with Signe Førre on vocals and double bass, Torbjørn Økland on different guitars, bouzouki, mandolin and trumpet, Jo Asgeir Lie on accordion and Kåre Opheim on drums and percussion. All the members Signe Førre has invited to her group has won at least 2 Norwegian Grammys before. They are now planing to make their debut album together with Folk and World Music.

Ruse kose curo imaš was a part of a commission work to Finnesloftet some years ago. Finnesloftet is the oldest wooden hall in tree in Norway and was build around 1295 AD in the town Voss in the western part of Norway. Now they have concerts there in the summer.
