The 11th edition of “Four To The Floor” is here. Diynamic Music’s very own various artist series, which
is always comprised of four dancefloor-oriented tracks that have one special quality in common: they
have all been heavily road tested and certified by label boss Solomun on his countless gigs all over
the world.
Opening the record is a soaring Tech House train with the catchiest electric guitar-turn-string-turnchoir
riff you will hear all year: “I’m So Crazy”, originally released by Par-T One in 2001, now remixed
by Armonica.
Up next is German Brigante with “Mango”, a thumping bass heavy anthem with lots of old-school
elements.
The third track “Choose Life” by Alexandros Djkevingr & Greg Ignatovich has gained a lot of attention
through Solomun’s Tomorrowland set and features lyrics of Danny Boyle’s critically acclaimed film
“Trainspotting”.
Closing off the eleventh instalment of FTTF is Serhan Guney with his dreamy “Journey Of The Mind”,
an ethereal Deep House voyage.

Marco Effe returns to Break New Soil with his third release for the label, cementing his status as one of the most consistent young talents hailing from Northern Italy. While his track "For Me- marked a highlight in the label"s young history and was praised by press and DJs alike, his newest release once again proves his constantly evolving producer qualities.

Marco moved to the German capital a few months ago and one can clearly hear the impact its world renown clubbing-experience has on his sound: On A we have "Seaweed Deep-, a melodic dancefloor weapon that perfectly showcases Break New Soil"s current musical direction. On the flipside, Marco teams up with his buddy James Mile - listening to the distinctive vocals of "Slicked & Sliced- that sit perfectly over this marching, stripped down house groove makes us think of those Berlin dancefloors we all know and love.

After 20 years in the rhythm of our weekend's heartbeat, it is now time to also share that beat by creating the Muna Music record label. The label will be a platform to release music by friends and musicians who are close to the club. Musically it's about the free cosmos between dub and techno in its natural beauty. 
It all begins with a compilation for the 20th anniversary of Muna. With a fine and small selection of tracks combining the feeling of 20 years at the club. 
The story will continue in the coming months with future exclusive limited edition vinyl releases, which will share some of the more beautiful things in this big bad music business. Berlin‘s Alex Niggemann is one of an exciting new run of artists to arrive on Steve Bug‘s established Poker Flat Recordings, bringing fresh, high quality house music to the world‘s dancefloors. Described in his biography as persistent and straight-ahead‘ his debut full-length album, marks the important next chapter in this dedicated producer‘s development.

The confidant, retro-meets-nu-school grooves of Niggemann‘s 11-track album ‘Paranoid Funk‘ fit perfectly to the man behind the beats. A classically trained pianist who gave up the ivory keys for a more technological dream, the young 26 year old producer joins a new wave of artists enjoying a steady resurgence in deep, groovy and indeed sexy house music. It‘s a mature, well considered achievement that will no-doubt find favor with club DJs and avid home listeners alike.

In his own words Alex set out to “create an album which is different to typical club or listening albums.... where songs fit together (even when having different styles) without being too similar“. 

He also goes on to say that it‘s very much about “showing the full range of what I‘m able to, what I have done, what I like and what I will do.“ 

It’s not hard to believe him, as it‘s a rather eclectic 4/4 album packed with groovy, feel-good house that still offers more hypnotic and darker moments along the way. Niggemann plays with tempos and vibes, moving freely and easily from the future-classic of ‘Don‘t Wait‘ with its light-hearted and warm Chicago vibes, to super-deep and addictive midnight cuts like ‘The Sweetest Thing‘ and the 118 bpm ‘Curious‘ - a personal tribute to a ‘techno hymn”

Alex simply lives and breathes his music, something that’s clear to both see and hear.

All around underground star Florian Schirmacher joins Niggemann on the darker, club-ready ‘Easy Love‘ that could easily form the soundtrack to one of Berlin‘s notorious Sunday morning raves, while the stripped ‘That Is...!‘ sails smoothly through jacking modern house, punctuated by detailed fills and instinctive arrangements.

Niggemann‘s love for classic 80s and 90s beats is clearly represented with tracks like the boogie-inspired ‘Parentless Child‘ freaking and tweaking around night-drive synths and Italo moments, however it‘s clear the producer‘s head is aimed straight towards the future with super-sexy cuts like ‘Street Therapy‘ proving he can indeed hold it down with the big boys and rock it with subtle, hypnotic and underground precision. So there‘s a pleasing mixture of dancefloor weapons and more introspective home toe-tappers. Alex wanted the album to be this way, reflecting the social aspect of his music and its function not only to make you dance, but to form the soundtrack to our everyday lives.

As the versatile and solidly produced long-player draws towards its conclusion, the moving ‘Lovers‘ featuring vocalist Daniel John Rydell not only tugs on the heart strings, but shows off Niggemann‘s piano and songwriting skills in a blissful ode to dance music culture today.

10 short years ago, a series of mysterious 12inch bomb-grade jack tracks began. Released under the moniker Traffic Signs, the releases appeared yearly from 2003 with very little hype or fuss – but went on to smash up dancefloors across the world in the hands of in-the-know DJs.  

Eventually it slipped out that the tracks were the work of Poker Flat head Steve Bug – a conduit for playful, upfront house with a tongue in cheek attitude. Now the cat is well and truly out of the bag, Poker Flat have graciously complied this stunning collection of all the Traffic Sign releases - with the cherry on top being one devastating lost track and an exclusive re-edit of a classic. 

'I Like Your Booty' and 'The Big Fake' originally kicked off the series, and still sound massive today – rough and raw rhythms that have proved their worth over the years, and still remain in many discerning DJ’s boxes.  

Also here is the mighty, mind-scrambling 'VCM Nation', and its original flip side 'Work Yeah'. Both remain as prime an example of how to jack a dancefloor to within an inch of its collective life as you are likely to come across. 

'Been in Glue' from 2005 pursues a more minimal funk route, highly charged and restless house music that will worm its way into your brain, as will the cheekily named 'Back on Crack'’s narcotic charms. 

'Noize Alarm' is the exclusive lost track here – and what a treat it is. Mr Bug switches easily back into his Traffic Signs persona to produce yet another driving, hypnotic workout for the mind and body – its sly nod to French Kiss proving this is an alter ego the label boss can really have some fun with. This one will blow up big, mark our words. 

Elsewhere, Marc Ashken’s previously unreleased re-edit of 'I Like Your Booty' is another one for the collectors – stripped down ass-shaking electronic funk that serves as a perfect companion piece to the remix he conducted with DJ T – also included here. 

Partly remastered where needed, Steve Bug presents Traffic Signs marks a welcome return for this project – and the perfect chance for those that might have missed them the first time round to pick up some true underground classics.
