Marquis Hawkes marks his fifth release for Aus with another classy 2 tracker titled, 'The Phoenix' (Part 1 and Part 2). The Phoenix follows up summer hit 'The Basement Is Burning' which saw Midland, The Black Madonna and Gerd Janson all supporting at festivals worldwide.

The Phoenix is two takes on one concept. 

Part One takes the Disco and House amalgam which Marquis has developed in recent times to it’s logical conclusion, perfectly walking the tightrope between joyous abandon and classy depth, and giving DJs the perfect weapon for all floors, from sweaty basements right the way through to much bigger dancefloors. 

Part Two then flips the program with the same raw materials and sets up the perfect shot, directed at a big room House/Techno crossover, building on the foundations laid by the Detroit techno originators by infusing contemporary production values and a more modern twist.

The Phoenix is something of a landmark EP for Marquis Hawkes, once again redefining his sound. We can't wait to hear what he does next.

Continuing the solid trend into the 2nd half of 2018, Etur Usheo brings his stylishly delicious productions onto Barcelona label, Sound Society with ‘Legacy EP’. Sound Society’s maiden release features 4 house cuts such as raw-melter on ‘My House’, vivacious funk on ‘Take Me Away’ and super-chic grooves on ‘That Sweet Stuff’ and our favorite, ‘Hot Shots’. ‘Hot Shots’ is an homage to Chicago deep house with soulful flavors using lush pads, roomy percussion's and a subdued bassline that channels in pulse of Southside Chicago.

Live Ones returns with a belting new 12’’ EP featuring five deep and sultry tracks from five artists hailing from four different countries. Windows (formally DJ Windows XP) kicks things off with their familiar dusty and melancholic drive, pulling all the right heartstrings on ‘I Wanted To Share My Feelings But You Kept Talking’. Label owner Lorca’s ‘Sirens’ follows this on a similar, ravey vibe with stomping kicks, breaks, breast-beating string samples and bleeps.

The flip side sees the talented and experienced Intr0beatz in amazing form utilizing rich, orchestral strings and his signature house grooves to produce the infectious ‘For The Love’. Keith Lorraine (also known as Baby Rollen) of London is up next with the emotionally rich ‘Wild Flower’. The track builds nicely into the final cut ‘Dreams’ from Canada’s Mathew Ferness. Here we see the artist at his best, using looping vocals and piano stabs to great effect, completing an EP that will work just as well in your headphones as it will on the dancefloor.
