This compilation is dedicated to the legendary Roland TR-909 synthesizer and represents a unique combination of classic sounds and modern trends.
We managed to collect 33 tracks that reflect the richness and diversity of the sound of this legendary instrument. We are sure that each of you will find a track here that can become his personal anthem.

Over the course of two months, a lot of work was done in collaboration with talented musicians from all over the world. Each of them made their own unique contribution to the creation of this unique compilation and, therefore, to the development of rave culture. This compilation will be a real find for all fans or those who want to immerse themselves in the world of electronic music and rave culture.
We express our deep gratitude to all participants for their creativity and to the subscribers of Locked Radio and Welofi for supporting us and our activities, it inspires and gives strength to move on. We really appreciate you.

my remix of elle barbara's "peach purée" is out now on bandcamp and most streaming sites - this one's been chilling on the shelf for few years, but i'm of the opinion that it's aged like a fine wine - i made a rare venture into jazz/pop territory, and it was a lot of fun - quinn mason provided some original saxophone on my remix, and the track was mastered by the keen ears at angel hair audio.

My gin and tonic snapped onto the epoxy finished table. The glass was cold in my hands. Hands that were slowly warming up with the room around me. The kick thumped with the up-beat hi-hat. The dreamy sound of the washed vocals and filtered synth pads called me towards the dance floor. The spring reverberated stabs subtly held my attention as the groove began to swell. Without a word, I watched as people swayed their way towards the booth, drinks in hand. Something about this... You give it your attention and it rewards. I need to get back out there.

Ava Blank is a producer based out of Los Angeles, California specializing in some of the more refined genres of dance music. "come thru" represents some of the most refined and original of her work, able to reward with multiple listens.

SERA021: Satellite Era presents “Xtilde EP,” an accumulation of ethereal music by Sol Rosenthal, best known as Iris Ipsum. 

Broadcasting from somewhere deep in the noisy liveliness of Los Angeles, one may not expect to hear experimental electronic music met with lush, tranquil tones. The urban world feels confined to a snow globe at times, making it difficult to welcome foreign influences into its uniformity. It takes a more calculated approach to break these boundaries - thankfully we have recruited a rising star to help us persist.

At quite a young age compared to the sonic pioneers that move us, Iris Ipsum has already made a clear statement in our biosphere: they are bunkering down for the long run. Juggling music, visual art, and software design, they ensure to blend together and implement all of their crafts with each project. On the audio side, they are inspired by early electronic subgenres such as ambient, electronica, breakbeat, and everything in between. This curiosity led to their debut album “Pattern Language” landing on the esteemed Touched Music imprint last year. Sharing a platform with innovators such as Autechre, The Future Sound of London, and Plaid is an incredible feat, but their follow-up to the release flexes the potential for even more promising times ahead.

Since its conception, “Xtilde EP” was influenced by Iris Ipsum’s devotion to expanding in multiple mediums. Their visuals normally embody sculptures as a focal point, which also serves as a catalytic aspect of their sound practices. Utilizing field recordings and deep listening amidst the franticness of urban environments lays the foundation of their work; spending time in the California mountains and deserts capture the essence of what makes it unique. Tying two tangible realms together is their passion for creative coding - most of this project was produced using self-made Max for Live instruments and VST plugins.

“Xtilde EP” was continually written, building on a collective idea and meant to be enjoyed from start to finish. Though cohesive by nature, Iris Ipsum also allows the project to encapsulate different moods, rather than staying on a singular path. The EP begins on a high note with “Subspace,” an energetic jungle track that nicely fits bouncing drum breaks with a dazzling ambiance. “Loreti” slows the tempo down, introducing a change of pace for the rest of the project. From here, we are met by a clever contrast between pristine drum work that feels heavy yet clean, along with uplifting melodies and tonal vocal chops. This can be heard in “Voxi” and “Essa” with clear nods to trip-hop and electronica. The EP closes with its title track, slightly bringing the pace back up and adding more glitched-out sounds to the structure left by its predecessors.

A collective effort on all fronts, “Xtilde EP” is simply Iris Ipsum at their finest. Reminiscent of early 2000s video game soundtracks, the project brings worldbuilding to life in audible form. Having studied decades of fabled electronic music, we have no doubts that they will become a household name when discussing contemporary experimental artists for years to come.

Istanbul-based producer and DJ Manendria makes his return with Claudio EP on Marginalia,
showcasing his distinctive blend of Melodic Techno and Modern House. Since entering the
electronic scene in 2022, Manendria has been crafting hypnotic grooves and cinematic
atmospheres, drawing inspiration from Melodic House, Afro House, and Indie Dance. His
productions have graced stages such as Tomorrowland Core World, Zamna Brazil, and
Burning Man, receiving support from industry heavyweights like Super Flu and ELIF. Known
for detailed and organic sound design, Manendria’s music captures both emotional depth and
dancefloor drive - qualities that shine on this release.
The EP features two original tracks - “Claudio” and “Jyot” (a collaboration with Norian) -
alongside a powerful remix of “Claudio” from LERM.
The title track, “Claudio,” is a hypnotic journey of rolling basslines, warm melodic layers, and
textural atmospheres, perfectly capturing the late-night energy Marginalia is known for. LERM
reimagines the track into a dynamic, club-focused weapon, amplifying its grooves and energy
while preserving its emotive core.
The second original, “Jyot,” created together with Norian, is a lush, melodic cut blending
organic instrumentation and subtle harmonics. Its emotive progression and driving synths
showcase Manendria’s ability to tell stories through sound while keeping a strong connection to
the dancefloor.
With a growing reputation as one of Istanbul’s standout talents - performing alongside Sasha
Carassi, ELIF, Yet More, and Aladağ - Manendria continues to push creative boundaries.

Lobster's back for 2017! Kicking off the year with more new artists and heading off on a more electro-leaning non-4/4 slant as we emerge from the dowdy winter months. 

Having previous released on one of our very favourite labels, Frustrated Funk, as well as the killer Brokntoys imprint, ITPDWIP has proven to be one of the more exciting yet elusive names coming through the last couple of years. 

Eye Can See The Darkness (In The End Of The Tunnel) is a shot of light in the dark cavern of a broken heart. Blinded By The Lights rips apart the heart-string orchestra rather than just pulling on the strings. A love ballad lost in the haze of the mid-summer, faded to blue and repackaged as a gentle and tender winter anthem. Sharing the A-side with the lucid dreaming of Jeremiah R on the drum-heavy remix. 

On the flip, I Am Not Him is a filter-squelching, bass-slapping meander into green haze territory, that finally erupts into a swagger of familiar Detroit-channeled drums and steady faded pads. Outernet grumbles up the black-hole cosmic radiation with an industrial-tinged number that plunges the depths of deep-space. Proper growling and clanging synths to add the right amount of raw, just at the end.
