This track is about a mans trip from Long Beach, California in the 70's to a small forest town in Oregon hitch hiking along the west coast.  It's a slow build and sparse soundscape in the verses with a full bodied chorus.

Fox is a fictional story based on the events surrounding the Hamburg riot in 1876 in South Carolina.  It's about the ghost of one of the african-americans (Simon Coker) at the Hamburg riot that was murdered by Senator Benjamin Tillman’s (aka Pitchfork Tillman) men.  It’s from the point of view of the ghost of Simon Coker coming back to haunt and take revenge on Tillman.  Here’s how the story is said to go (without the ghost part, we added that)

The Hamburg Massacre of 1876 is an episode representative, in too many ways, of what came to be called the “Redemption” of the South from Reconstruction. Two months after the Massacre, in September, a band of armed white men gathered in Edgefield, South Carolina, twenty odd miles northeast of Hamburg. At their head was Nathaniel Butler, a one-armed Confederate veteran and the brother of the attorney who, in July, brought charges against Dock Adams—the black Union Army veteran who headed up the local militia in Hamburg.

And, having gathered, Butler’s mob (calling itself the “Sweetwater Sabre Club”) went looking for one Simon Coker, a black man who was, at the time, a Republican State Senator from nearby Barnwell County, and who had embarked on an investigation of white militancy in that part of South Carolina. Butler and his men seized Coker (he was already in the custody of local whites); they led him into the brush along a country road, and, after permitting him to pray, and agreeing to return the key to his corn-crib to his wife, they shot him dead where he knelt. Party to the business was a young white farmer named Benjamin Tillman.

Nelly is about the kidnapping of Mrs. Nell Donnelly.  It's a slow progressive build and the music is fashioned to give the feeling of imminent harm and the imposing presence of intimidation.

Ladelai is a steadily progressing folky song.  It's theme centres around the struggle between good and evil and resistance.  It's from the point of view of a little girl who wanders through woods on the outskirts of a small town and sees bad people doing bad things to each other and not being able to understand why people treat each other poorly.

Paralysed is heavily driven by drums and layered with cello pads and guitar effects.  The lead vocals drive through the feelings that come with struggles in a faltering relationship.

Mary is a song about a make believe situation between a prominent figure in history and his alleged lover.  It revolves around the idea of preparing someone he loved for his imminent passing and leaving her as safe and comfortable as possible.

Lita and The Bones – coupled by front woman and Fijian born Selita Laubuka (Lita) and American born Jason Czapla (aka Thunderstorm) - first united as a song-writing duo in 2009. Since then they have explored their musical creativeness through life’s journeys and their passion for storytelling.

Based in Brisbane Australia and having performed at numerous local venues and art focused events, the duo are now accompanied by drummer Jeff Paton (aka Eagle Mountain) and bassist Michael Cullen (aka Volcano Boulder), broadening their soundscape.
