This EP is the full responsibility of a guy called Aladdin, representing Lyon. A lot of tracks are in his producer’s collection already, all of them are swinging between deep house, garage house, a pinch of 2-step, some herbs from the 90s and everything that could be added there (and not ruining the whole dish). When you flip over to the B the honey keeps dripping with the rolling grooves of 'No White Lines' before rounding off the EP with the driving and slightly spooky 'We Need To Have A Think'.

Hailing from Tokyo, Japan, Hoshina Anniversary has previously appeared on ESP Institute, Musar Recordings, and Young Marco’s Safe Trip, fusing traditional Japanese instrumentation with House & Techno sensibilities across his productions. Arriving now on Brooklyn’s toucan sounds label under his Shifting Gears moniker, the DJ/producer turns in two Jazz and Hard Bop inspired club-not-club tracks on ‘Drum Nation’.
Leading the release, title cut ‘Drum Nation’ sees loose drums and jazz scales meet crunchy production, delivering a deeply musical and punchy house track. ‘Average Hoshina Sounds’ sees more delightfully lo-fi production as wonky stabs and glistening pads culminate in an energetic mid-point build-up, making for a high energy dancefloor-focussed accompaniment to the title track.

Producer duo EB_Flow launched London institute FUSE’s ‘X Series’ earlier this year with the ‘Transmission’ EP, kicking off a run of records on the label centred around collaboration. Now, the mysterious pair join forces once again for the ‘Sunshine’ EP, this time picked up by Burnski’s Constant Sound. Known for releasing house, garage, bass and electro via its Constant Black, Instinct and Infiltration branches, the imprint has become a respected and eclectic powerhouse within the scene, dropping material from Kepler, Chris Stussy, Interplanetary Criminal, Borai and many more.

The A-side establishes itself with organic drums, sweeping synths and boundless energy. ‘Running’ introduces a dusty breakbeat, infectious bass and an irresistible topline, setting the tone for a multi-purpose, classy dancefloor affair.

Flipping it over to the B-side, garage cut ‘Before’ has a stripped-back beat, sizzling hi-hats and quirky, warped samples ducking in and out of the mix. ‘Searching’ closes things out with unmatched style, poolside party music of the highest calibre, marked by a catchy groove and alluring vocals.
