Still Hot has grown rapidly as a booking agency over the past few years, which ensures a dance-all-night feeling in clubs all over the world and full floors on festivals with its artists. Martin Eyerer, Alex Flatner and Benny Grauer have now decided to push this concept even further! As experienced label bosses of e.g. Kling Klong and Circle Music, it was obvious to add another department to Still Hot: a label! The main intention was to create a platform based on the family idea for the Stillhot artists, which gives everyone the freedom to release music without any influence from outside. There will always be alternating releases by the Stillhot crew on the new label, while the artists will keep on remixing each other.

The first release comes from the agency companions Markus Homm and Mihai Popoviciu. Those two didn’t produce a common release for ages. We remember countless strong Homm & Popoviciu singles on labels like Highgrade and various other imprints. Thus, we are more than happy to have this one first on the bill of Still Hot Records:

The kick-off comes with “Insomnis”, the title track of this EP. This is a housy deep piece of music, that skips in between Café Del Mar and a peaktime stomper for the night. The Berlin DJ, producer and label boss of Stillhot, Benny Grauer, interpreted this sound in his own way and at the same time stretched a typical Berlin-like style to the eight minutes playtime. With “Accent”, Markus and Mihai shoot out an oldschool-filled and very bass-heavy number and conclude the EP with “Taraon”, a percussive summer House track.

What a debut! The first of all releases on the new label Still Hot has really been successful and we can be looking forward to hearing more hot stuff, that’s already been scheduled!

We are delighted to welcome back Mihai Popoviciu on our label after his successful remix on the track ’Nightcrawler’.  
His unique style and the quality of his productions made him a member of the deep house hall of fame and his tracks are always on the top of the charts.

We are sure the 2 originals and 3 remixes of the EP will lighten up all the deep house lovers’ heart. There is no question that this is the strongest EP ever on our imprint! 1000% quality music!  The title track ‘Flux’ is an epic bit of deep house that is one of the best tunes in the genre now in our honest opinion, perfect melodies on a smooth levitating foundation.  The 2nd original ’Lotus’ is the other side of the coin with its great dubby groove and catchy melodies.

On remix duties we asked the Pornbugs duo to rethink the title track Flux. The head honchos of the amazingly successful deep house label ‘Bondage Music ‘ created a remix which focuses on mesmerizing melodies and sweet percussions.

On Flux we got another amazing reinterpretation from an upcoming deep & tech house artist James Cole (All I Want, Gruuv) he put the groove to the center of his version, so the result became a real dancefloor groover.

On Lotus the TSM label bosses Peter and Greg took the opportunity to make yet another great tune in which they mixed their easily recognisable grooves with the original track’s nice melodies.

We have no doubt that all the DJs who love the Deep House genre will find a suitable track for their sets in this release.  Take a listen to the EP and make your own choice.
