My Favourite Freaks agency’s record label is ready to start in October 2014. The organisers decided to release a compilation for a start: AGENT!, Danny Serrano, M.in, Hermanez and Macromism contribute to the collection’s first part; ICS, Kasbah Zoo, Rhadow, Ruben Mandolini and Sascha Riot will be featured on the second disc of “We Are One”. The production is due to be released on October 6th, 2014, and November 3rd, 2014– digitally and in stores.

Im kommenden Oktober 2014 geht das hauseigene Label der Agentur My Favourite Freaks an den Start. Zur Release der ersten Katalognummer entschlossen sich die Verantwortlichen, eine Compilation zusammenzustellen. Die Künstler AGENT!, Danny Serrano, M.in, Hermanez und Macromism sind auf dem ersten Part der Kollektion “We Are One” vertreten. Die Tracks für den zweiten Teil steuern ICS, Kasbah Zoo, Rhadow, Ruben Mandolini und Sascha Riot bei. Die Zusammenstellung erscheinen am 6. Oktober 2014 und 3. November 2014 (Releasedate des zweiten Teils) und werden in digitaler Form und als CD veröffentlicht.

Ruben Mandolini – Deeper

Gathaspar has been making a name for himself based on his productions for labels like Thema and Freude am Tanzen as well as his live sets (“I’m not a DJ”) in some of Berlin’s most respected spots like Panorama Bar and Watergate. AMAM can’t resist his detail-oriented grooves, either, so now we’re jumping in on the action, releasing the Vaporizer EP.

The title track is a twisting, churning concoction with low-end murk swirling underneath pristine percussion to form a whirlpool on the dancefloor. Although it’s built on subtlety, “Vaporizer” is as threatening as its name implies, ready to zap you into a gaseous state at any moment. Next, “Ocelot 29” turns up the heat a notch, offering more overt, guttural oomph as well as a familiar human voice to latch onto. But make no mistake, there’s nothing basic about this track, with its atypical rhythmic patterns that unfold over unpredictable chord progressions. 

If those two cuts aren’t weird enough, check out the remixes: Playhouse veteran Lowtec delivers a mangled version of “Ocelot 29” that sounds like a melting VHS cassette, suggesting a new subgenre, Quaalude House. Then OstGut Ton stalwart Tobias. transforms “Vaporizer” into a different beastly species, formulating jacking rhythms that pop out of the speakers. Finally, as a digital bonus, AMAM mastermind takes it even deeper with mangled chords and dubby squiggles. Get vaporized!

Around this time last year the German producers dropped one of our most popular mixes of 2013, showcasing their trademark style which effortlessly bridges the gap between techno and tech-house.

Their latest EP 'Line Of Fire' will be released on Beatport on November 10 and it's more of the excellent same from the pair. The three-tracker contains a cut called 'Right On Track' and this a prime example of the sort of rollers Booka Shade are capable of creating.

Extrasketch is back with a bang. Butane and Riko Forinson combine forces once again on ‘You Make Me’, adding yet another stand-out EP to their impressive catalog.  

Dating back to 2019 with their first collaborative release, Extrasketch 014, the duo has certainly come a long way, making appearances together on eighteen further EPs on the imprint. Extrasketch boss Butane and his trusty production partner Riko Forinson continue to serve up their highly creative take on underground-focused dance music, spanning the breadth of deep house, techno and beyond. Delivering their first tracks together of the year, late March welcomes a trio of fresh house offerings as they link up once again on ‘You Make Me’.

Dubby and heady, yet driving and hypnotic, title cut ‘You Make Me’ is straight-up, no-nonsense house business made for the floor, with the track’s provocative female vocals ebbing and flowing in the mix. Imploring party-goers to 'Stick Around', the next cut veers towards more sun-drenched shuffling spheres, with skippy drums and shimmering lead melodies. ‘What I Need’ brings a timeless and classy balance of warped synth lines and soulful vocals to close the show.
