And what if we were like babies in a crib? You know when you see a little baby—like four months old, like three or four months. And you go in and you see it in its little onesie. 

And you go in and you reach down and you coo at it and it looks at you and its little eyes look at you. And you just connect and you just laugh and you just laugh about nothing. And I like to think okay, this morning I read some things, and I was just lying in shavasana laughing about them. Laughing and laughing. 

And I just realized that the universe is just trying to DO this to us—a lot. Come in, check on us, tickle our bellies, connect with us. And we get really caught up in the toys. We notice every little thing about that mobile, and we just, something happens in us [when we get older] that switches us over to only thinking about that mobile above us, hanging above us, twirling around, colors and shapes changing. 

And it’s all interesting and it’s to stimulate us and keep our faculties alive. 

But you know, when did we start to get so focused on that mobile that we forgot about that feeling of connection with the universe, with the things that really can touch us, reach down and touch us? Qualities in people that the universe can do that through and reach us? 

Instead, we’re really focused on that little mobile and we won’t take our eyes off it, and we cry when it turns, and we laugh when it spins to our favorite color but then our mind changes and then we don’t like that color anymore and it’s just not spinning fast enough or slow enough or doing what we want it to do. 

That epiphany just came to me today.
