Don’t talk to me, I’m an asshole and I mask 
it as being bashful. I made a big mistake. 
I cut a lot of people off to do this shit this great and I 
think about it every single day. Why would I ever 
forget? Why would I lie and say there’s nothing I’ma ever 
regret? A lot of apology texts I haven’t written yet. 
You’d think I’d have no feelings with all this talk of the internet, 
but I can’t tell where the truth starts and the lyrics end. 
Like I’m supposed to just let this music fade in and 
laugh at it until I make it. Like I’m supposed to just keep 
pursuing performing and yearning for these stages, but what 
happens when I look into the crowd and see their faces? Is nothing 
sacred? People you’ve known for years and you just 
disappear like nothing’s different here. You don’t deserve 
to have those friends again. Just stay in this self-imposed 
solitary confinement until the bitter end. What happened to 
love? What happened to trust? What happened to 
us? Alcohol in the cuts. Marijuana 
my lungs, I should be coughing up blood. 
I need to pick it back up. By myself. 
‘Cause guaranteed I won’t find any help in all these 
strangers who won’t entertain the lies I tell. I’ll start over 
and do better from here on out and carry 
the weight of every word that leaves my mouth. I 
changed. Whether it’s for the better, I’ll know eventually. 
Sacrifice myself to the entropy and blame it on the 
cards. Like that’s just how it was meant to be. Seems like a shaky 
kinda strategy but I guess we’ll see. I never stopped 
loving anyone, I just stopped showing up. How’s that excuse 
holding up? Maybe I’m just not old enough. 
Maybe when I finally settle and my soul is crushed and 
I’m truly alone, then I’ll know what’s up.
