Little Lives' debut album Love More, is a purely collaborative project. Love More, out November 12th, is a reflection of our times. Observations and encouragements. Featuring Philly's own poet and singer Ursula Rucker (The Roots), DM Hotep (Sun Ra), Jaron Olevsky (Amos Lee), Cellist Annie Givler (Kanye West), Birdie Busch, Waverly Alston, and many others. Produced by Brendan McGeehan, the 8 tracks blend orchestral folk, psych-rock, poetry, and its own unique heart.  With a vision to spread hope and build awareness, Little Lives is just beginning. Whether on stage or in workshops, we connect through creative expression, storytelling, and shared artistry. Little Lives seeks to spread hope and community through song. What is music if not change? Little Lives is a project presented by Miles Orion Butler and made up of musicians and artists dedicated to using the tools they have to spread hope, change, peace, love, awareness, and activism.

Light For (feat. Koof Ibi)

Ursula Rucker and I(Miles Orion Butler) sat down to share a conversation about creative expression as necessity and the healing journey of creativity especially in the time of COVID. The conversation is bookended by two of Ursula's Haikus. This piece was originally created for the Germantown InfoHub radio show(92.9fm in Philly)- a community driven radio show and resource for the neighborhood we call home. Originally the conversation was 1.5 hours. I then worked to edit down the conversation and compose music and create a soundworld to support the conversations flow.
