Almost six years after their first collaborative release, Robert Johnson Club’s resident, as well as one of the label’s mainstays, Phillip Lauer teams up again with Slow Motion Records’ label head Fabrizio Mammarella as Black Spuma. On behalf of their fifth release to date, Lauer and Mammarella set their studios controls up for a Hypercall into an Italo sonic past and their futuristic sounds.

From A1 Station to Station, Lauer and Mammarella get into business right away, as the first handful of sequences unfold their crafty Italo House fireworks. Laser beams and stretched sounds meet bass Arpeggios as, after the first breakdown, a piano riff slowly unfilters amidst portamento pads.
A steady Tambourine and beat kick off A2 Transpork, in which the main theme consists of a shiny and arpeggiated sawtooth chord progression, layered with a laid-back melody laid on top and and some reverb FX at the end.
B1 Miracoli relies on a bouncy bassline along a flat-out Eighties Kick Drum, alternating and squelchy synth figure. Drum rolls fast-forward you into a miraculously driving, yet slightly melodramatic Italo sound set with guitar-riff- and mangled vocal samples.
At the end of this EP, B2 Data Life enters sonic space on a magic synth carpet ride, propelled by a booming 808 Bass Drum, Rim Shots, and Bells, with Black Spuma encoding their Data into a modulated metallic-sounding Arpeggio.

The duo il est Vilaine believes that their first track breathes the masculine fragrance of some James dean stepping out of a backroom. With deep bass and highly pitched gimmicks, the duo is not so much of an electronic pun, rather a dancing machine combining the efficiency of good old acid-house and the hypnotic features of productions such as remote, kill the dJ or Tim Paris. At once wild and Western, urban and mystical, we are happily confronted with a sound, an identity- a rare occurrence in these days of neat clean electro-pop. Undoubtedly one of the great releases of the year at Logia Records is “Body Rocks”, the EP with which BTCOP lands on the growing label based in Argentina and Mexico. The Glasgow-based producer presents 3 eclectic original tracks. “On a Heartbeat” an Electro piece with psychedelic tints in slow motion, “The Dribbler” has that electric vibe, guitars that we can also feel on the track that gives the EP its name, “Body Rocks” with a Dark-Disco sound.

The EP features remixers from the likes of Ricardo Rubén, Diskontrol, Vleks, and the Argentine duo established in Mexico, Renuna. The experienced Argentine producer Ricardo Ruben remixes “On a heartbeat”, creating an excellent version more linked to Indie-Dance. For his part, Diskontrol does a remix of “The Dribbler” that takes him to the dance floor nonstop. "Body Rocks" has two remixes, one by Vleks, with sounds a little deeper, voices and flying melodies, and the other by Renuna, with his style, Indie-Dance that likes to flirt with Techno.

From the cosmos of Stretford on the outer realms of Manchester comes the kaleidoscope view of the world according to Psychederek and it's an explosive trip of shoe gaze soaked balearica on this super limited vinyl release!

Lead track Screamadereka heads straight into orbit from the get go with a stop off to thank the likes of The Cocteau Twins & Death In Vegas for their influence along the way. Huge drums, spaced out synths, warped guitars & a fully charged love in style vocal all wrapped up in a mushroom flavoured microdot with a pretty empowering finale.

I'm Alright steps up the ante a bit more and goes all Tomorrow Never Knows on us but with added warehouse acid squelch & rasps throbbing out from a beat that is broken (but not break beat!) whilst still retaining the psychedelic tendencies of its predecessor.  

Sean Johnston steps off the ALFOS rocket ship and joins forces with Duncan Gray for their Hardway Bros Meet Monkton Disco Dub take of Screamadereka and the result is a hive of cosmic mutant disco brilliance whilst Manchester's finest 6 piece See Thru Hands turn I'm Alright into bombastic focused UKG style wig out duet complete with new vocal takes by DNCN for seriously wonky floors & like minded souls.

For the digital release there is also an extra helping from Hardway Bros & Monkton where they ramp up the wonk factor & go even more horizontal than the original!

Limited vinyl release comes with an incredible exclusive insert drawn by Manchester local artist Emma Evans and features a visual interpretation of the Space Arcade E.P.

In the middle of the summer Yeho, an Israeli musician coming from Tel Aviv, was wandering around Italy and randomly he found himself in the “Quintino Basement”, lair of Ninja Exotic Machine.
This casual encounter gave birth to three new tracks where the
duo’s downtempo and tribal style merges with Yeho’s crisp and raw vocal together with intriguing percussions samples extracted from live recordings of the percussionist Andrea Greco.
The result is an Ep called “36 questions” out on Pho Bho Records on the 14th of October.

Vivod label boss Ali Renault serves up this rather moody ep in memory of his late friend, Pete Mangalore of Human Shield fame. The five tracker kicks off with Northdown Acid, a brooding sprawl with elements of Italo and acid combined to beautiful effect. The amusingly titled Imminent Salad follows with its jacking strut groove, laden with lush pads. Peter Summoning breaks up the ep with its simple ambient suggestion. On the flip things get going again with slo mo stomper Forbidden Mind before title track Nawce Blizzard closes with it’s electro style hypnosis. Finally we’re left with an infinite cat purring locked groove to send you to sleep. Great ep from start to finish. All copies come with a free Peter plectrum and vivod sticker. Taking the controls for our first podcast of 2022 is Younger Than Me.

With early turns on labels such as Bordello A Parigi, XXX, Bar Records and Dischi Autunno, it's safe to say Francesco is doing the business and hitting the sweet spot with us at Viscera HQ. 

Delivering a modern crossover of ‘90s influenced progressive house, trance, EBM, breakbeat and techno within his productions, his DJ sets are not dissimilar, riding along a fun yet forceful sound and we just cannot get enough.

For today's mix, Younger Than Me dives headfirst into the cosmos, gripping brash breaks and aggressive melodies along the way. 

Time to feel the g-force.

As the name states Live at Robert Johnson is the associated label of the respected venue in Offenbach and incorporates what the club stands for. The imprint has been establishing a solid ground for the new Frankfurt sound since 2009. By featuring internationally acclaimed artists LARJ has been providing DJs and audiences with essential tunes in an extensive range of high-quality house music. Laid-back dance-floor awareness with a sense for particularity in sound is what might describe best most of the releases and artists.
