Exclusive: Tee Mango - Last Dance

UK-music ambassador Tee Mango delivers his altogether fourth EP, Last Dance, on Will Saul's Aus Music and delves into new territory on the EP as he lends his vocals to each of the three tracks. Combined with the rather deep and melodic vibe T's vocals add an irresistable note to each of the cuts – a beautiful melancholy that one is dying to listen to over and over again. The Millionhands label head provides a bass line in the beat of a heart for the EP opener and name giving track Last Dance. Luring the listener into its vibe with an almost two minute built-up before his echoing vocals set in and please the pads to then softly and reaptingly ask 'Will you stay for one more dance, my love? Will you stay with me?“, it's difficult to deny the wish. However, with vocals and a synth-line as sweet as this it's impossible to give the track a wide berth.

On a rainy late September day in the mid eighties, 7 year old Phillip Lauer didn't know what to expect from that little new born G, who was referred to as his brother Jacob. On the other hand, Baby Jacob wasn't very sure of what to make of this - back then still sporty - youngster either, who behaved like his boss. To make a short story long... it took them almost 30 years to finally find out - behind the helm of the infamous Pyramide 2 Studio when conducting this fine piece of home made dance music: the Brudis EP.

Tel Aviv based duo Red Axes takes you on a “Tour de Chile” and we suspect one of the tourist attractions being some dirty leather club hidden in a former gold mine.
Producers and DJs Dori Sadovnik and Niv Arzi have got a new wave and post-punk background as members of another band called Red Cotton, and one can hear it from the EBM-ish dark techno sounds of the three original tracks featured in the “Tour de Chile” EP. They go along with two remixes by Soft Rocks and Bobmo.

01. “Tour de Chile” follows a mine-trolley on the tracks of hell.

02. “Sun Goes Down” shows some restricted angst with its slow-mo jacking.

03. “On and On” is undoubtedly operated by a nasty robot promoting its own conception of groove.  

04. “Tour de Chile (Soft Rocks dark and stormy remix)” has nothing soft; rather, its binary obsession hardens the mood of the original.

05. “On and On (Bobmo remix)” add the ravey twist that the French Boy is keen on. 

Additional background about Red Axes:
Red Axes is a project created by Tel- Aviv Based producers &amp; DJs: Dori Sadovnik &amp; Niv Arzi.
The duo has been performing together for over 6 years, first as members of the new wave / post punk band Red Cotton which is still the moniker they use for some materials today.
After living in Amsterdam and traveling in Europe for a while, the guys returned to Tel-Aviv and began an underground psychedelic electronic party series called "Break It!". 
In 2009, after a year of djing, producing and promoting parties all over Tel Aviv, they established a new vision and concept for all of their artistic endeavors - focusing on house, disco and techno and they started to release their tracks. Their first release "White Murder" came out on Statra recrodings from NYC. They also won a Beatport remix contest with their 
deep and funky interpretation of Yello's "Bostich" under the moniker Red Cotton alongside Shlomi Zidan. In 2011 they realesed "Bela” Ep and "Into My Dreams” on Klasse Recordings. 2012 starts with “Tour de Chile” EP on I’m a Cliché. 
In the Tel Aviv night scene they were booked to play alongside Luciano, Richie Hawtin, Pilooski just to name a few...

Hot off the heels of Aluxes, his 2018 Lumière Noire debut EP, young Mexican DJ/producer Iñigo Vontier is inviting Chloé‘s label on a trip to the far corners of the body and mind with an album of demented grooves, psychedelic take-offs and imaginary comic strips of mystical
rituals.

A bewitching full-length

Mexicans may never possess the sonic science of the Germans, the hedonistic madness of the English or the gift for synthesis of the French, but, as proven by Iñigo Vontier‘s first full length for Lumière Noire, their universe is much more exciting than anyone would have ever thought. The DJ/producer fully asserts his origins by brandishing the album’s title El Hijo del Maiz („the son of the corn“) almost as an emblem: „in Mexico, corn is eaten daily. It has long been defined as ‚the gold of America‘, and I consider all Mexicans as children of corn“.

A spiritual and embodied vision

Iñigo‘s first Lumière Noire release, the four-track Aluxes, set the tone of the young talent‘s distinctive interpretation of dark disco, which creeps up on the dancefloor from its iconoclastic side. The two tracks and two remixes (one by Flugel, the other by Inigo himself) featured on the 12“ for lead single Xu Xu (featuring Red Axes-affiliate Xen‘s irrelevant vocals) was a full-bodied confirmation that Vontier sees the dancefloor as an arena for the occult – whether from the peoples of the equatorial jungle, the Middle East or, even from indocile machines.

But, while the spiritual element seems part and parcel of the Jalisco native’s output, it is in no way the only ingredient of this first long-player: „this album best reflects my own vision and spirituality, and the way I feel it“ he says.

Whether contemplative or frenetic, the collection of tracks that make up El Hijo Del Maiz takes the kitchen sink and throws it out the window: languid rhythms, haunted vocals, and mysterious percussion fuel a discombobulated house set that scrambles the listener‘s five
senses, leaving one disoriented and exposed to the vagaries of vertigo.
