DJ & producer Blando starts the year off with a bang on his track ‘Diamond’ on Smash Deep, the Brazilian selector expertly blends deep synths and catchy vocal samples to produce a song oozing with dancefloor emotion.

As the synths squelch and the bassline thumps, Blando laces in layers of rendered vocals until the track reaches a climax. The sonics swirl and swoop as they grow louder and louder and at the crescendo, the tune takes on a big room feel as the bassline heightens and then drops to deadly effect. Blando is really flexing his musical muscles on this deep house anthem with aspects of big room/main stage sound weaved throughout.

Blando is a Brazilian DJ & producer who has been madly in love with the electronic music scene ever since he was introduced to it at the young age of 10. As the years went by and Blando soaked up all the knowledge he could, he began his journey as a DJ at 14, where he was already travelling around Brazil to play gigs. Fast forward to present day and Blando is still mastering his craft alongside some huge names that he can now call collaborators, including the likes of Skullwell and Beowülf.

Featuring several world exclusive premieres during his EDC Las Vegas set last weekend, Hardwell unveiled not just the first single (Arcadia) from his forthcoming, as yet untitled, studio album, but also his mesmerizing remix of Coldplay’s beautiful collaboration with Avicii ‘A Sky Full of Stars’.
 
Adding subtle touches, the Dutch megastar producer has succeeded in retaining the euphoria of the original, whilst giving the record a fresh progressive deepness, that sees it journey down a new, more club driven tone. Frontman Chris Martin’s voice is as dreamlike as ever, swelling alongside the song’s catchy pop-like melody, but the sprinkling of Hardwell’s signature sound gives the record another gear, transforming it into an anthemic masterpiece perfectly suited to the mainstage.
 
Personally invited by the label (FFRR/Parlophone) to remix the second single from their new album ‘Ghost Stories’, Hardwell said “I’ve long been a fan of the band so when I discovered they wanted me to remix one of the tracks from their new album, it was really a ‘wow’ moment for me. It’s such an honor and I’m really proud of the outcome of the track. When I dropped it at EDC Las Vegas, the crowd’s reaction was electrifying; it still gives me Goosebumps thinking about it!”
