Monkey Safari proudly unveil their new album ‘Love Will Set U Free’, their fourth full length project and their most definitive work so far. Over the past year the German duo have been utilizing the forced downtime to immerse themselves in making music. In such strange times their creative process shifted, taking them down new avenues as they channeled their combined experience and broad backgrounds into the new LP. Unable to road test their music, as they normally would, Lars and Sven initially approached the album with slight worry - unable to tap into that seemingly crucial audience to artist feedback loop. However, in the end, it helped to liberate them resulting in a project that embodies the Monkey Safari sound in its purest form.

Across 10 tracks they explore a range of styles, while keeping true to their own distinct audio identity. There are forays into deep house and garage, the Chicago roots, breakbeat and hints of pop, too all through the lens of the nineties era. 

At the core of Love Will Set U Free is a simple, but powerful, message; in a time when conflict is rife on our planet, love can unite us and rejuvenate our divided world. Music has the power to create positive change, on an individual and societal level, we just have to harness that power, be ready to embrace the love within and let it set us free.

'Australia's Eric Lune is slowly carving a name for himself with highly exquisite productions that feel futuristic, whilst staying true to the progressive ethos of the early 00’s: lots of groove, highly melodic and always affecting. He debuts on Balance Music with a three-track EP that serves as an excellent showcase of a producer on the rise.

The bubbling bass on ‘Predisposition’ features an uplifting edge that propels the track into exciting spaces. The lovely vocal FX that reminds of Underworld at their euphoric best is peppered throughout, leading to a sublime melodic breakdown that is hugely uplifting. This is proper progressive house. 

On ‘Rover’ shimmering synths ride on top of engaging FX that showcase Lune’s advanced engineering skills. It slowly builds towards a melodic crescendo and a breakdown that keeps swelling to a breaking point. The thick, off-beat bass and warm kick all add to the overall 10/10 vibe.

‘Midnight Jam’ is aptly named. Energetic synths play against a determined groove that adds up to make a joyful production. Layers of melodies are introduced as it progress into a massive breakdown filled with attention-grabbing moments.'

Travis Jesse has made quite a stir from his adopted Argentinean home. A relative newcomer to the underground dance scene, April 2020's 5-track "Solandra" EP showcased the native Australian's production skills.

Going onto feature on the likes of 3rd Avenue, AH Digital and Mistique Music, Jesse's Particles debut opens with "Salvage". Redolent in deep rolling groove and heavy beat, melodic flourishes revel alongside panned synth and thickly layered pads. A glorious collage of sounds thus builds amidst dancefloor rhythm in a track that showcases effortless craftsmanship. The picture book "Wildflower" continues the head-shaking rhythmic cadence while a subterranean bass groove anchors a symphony of melodic touches. Blossoming through the beatless breakdown, delayed piano and reverse reverb vocal breaths jostle gently against gently pulsing pads in waves of sonic bliss.

Another artist who has made Buenos Aries his adopted home, Andrea Cassino's association with Particles stretches back to an August 2011 remix of Alessando Diga. A further six reworkings have graced the Particles catalogue while original music in the shape of 2017's "Divine", 2020's "Losing Part of Me" and October 2021's "Asante" have graced Proton Music. Having previously made a name for himself as one half of the Cassino & Laben duo, the Italian born artist now returns to Particles with a typically powerful remix of "Salvage". Driving forwards with a dynamic 16th note bass pattern, white noise washes and clicking, popping percussion lay the foundation for the sumptuous melodic phrasing from Travis Jesse's original to flow across the near 9-minute interpretation. Familiar refrains continue to please while Cassino's trademark sonic layering and silky-smooth pads add elegance and class in bountiful measures.

Another relative newcomer, Mauro Masi is the third artist to ply his trade from South America. A proponent of deep and progressive house, the Argentinean has quickly found his feet within the underground dance fraternity after an August 2019 debut on Mystic Carousel Records. Further work has since graced the likes of Flug Lab, Balkan Connection and Nick Lewis's Emotional Content Recordings. Now making his Particles debut, the Mauro Masi remix swims in joyous melodic harmony as refrains from "Wildflower" fizz and ripple across a cascading array of new production material. New motifs hypnotise in gentle repetition, surrounded by a chunky rhythmic framework and deep kick. Building in subtly overlapping sonic layers, new melodies blend seamlessly with Travis Jesse's work. The result is an ingenious and innovative new arrangement that encapsulates the Mauro Masi production sound.

Able to "Salvage" a treasure trove of sonic jewels, Travis Jesse is ably assisted by Andrea Cassino and Mauro Masi.

The first track on this EP is ¨Vazda¨ — a future summer anthem. A matching soundtrack for long-awaited hot days and nights full of positive emotions. The second track is a remix of the work by Shanti Matkin called ¨Tingling Sensations¨. “Remix pays homage to my Trance/Psy Trance roots, as the original was one of my favourite tracks when I was younger”, Tebra says. “Shanti Matkin was generous enough to allow me to remix it, and I am truly thankful. Again, this is a very danceable track for which I have high hopes”.

'A Colombian of rare quality and distinction, Kamilo Sanclemente has been a force to be reckoned with via his 'Beyond the Future' series. A trio of new track opens 'Vol. 4'. 

Joined by Fernanda Olaya on the powerful rhythmic force of 'Empty Spaces'., a bouncing bassline is soon accompanied by a beautifully ethereal synth line. Textured pads contribute to an unhurried feel before a sparkling arp and haunting vocal enters at the mid-point. The result is a progressive house tour de force that adds more melodic layers and effects post-breakdown to dramatic effect. 

A darker vibe exudes from 'Dissension' with its steady beat and hypnotic bass sequence. Melodic layers fill the mid-range as a filtered arp rises and falls with the bass pattern. New motifs make their presence felt at the stripped back mid-point as they shimmer and undulate into the second half rhythmic melange. 

The final offering sees Kamilo and Zalvador create a wonderful 'Coalition'. Trademark synth lines combine with a heavy beat and rolling percussive groove as filtered motifs and running melodies cascade off each other in bright sonic patterns. Converging half-way, a series of effects and white noise fills sit behind the melodic patterns as the dynamic rhythm creates an immaculate and club-friendly finale.'
