The final track, Nine Palms has a real quirky, almost broken beat feel to it with its high-hat ride pattern and punchy bass drum. A wickedly twisted analogue organ riff is quickly introduced, which is cleverly used as both a rhythm device and the melodic platform that sets up the whole track. Lex & Locke seem to be total masters of a ‘free-style funky synth lead’, and we’re treated to another slice of this particularly tasty pie in ‘Nine Palms’. Whereas Balandra is the late-night stake-out, Nine Palms is the final act where Lex & Locke high five each other following another successful bust.

This is my Spin City Show that aired live on myhouseradio.fm 21.04.2019.  This week I was joined by Greece based Kostas Boutsioukas aka Disco B who runs the excellent page https://soundcloud.com/latenight-sessions

I kicked this weeks show off with tracks from Ms Janette & The Broker, Dave Gerrard, Crazy P, Deadly Sins, Rafael Fernandez, Dr Packer, Hotmood, Karim, Cole Medina and Soho808 before handing over to Disco B to see out the show.

A little bit more about Spin City's guest in his own words:

I am so called a hobby dj. I'm a music lover and collector since the late 80s .(I was 10 yrs old so I was allowed to buy 1 cassette per month!)Thank god I did not have to work for that.Ha ha. In 2010 when disco became hip again I became the Host of Late Night Sessions Radio show together with my friend Dino .The radio show lasted as a weekly show till 2017 . The show was live for 5 yrs and the last 2yrs were recorded mixes.I still keep a Soundcloud page, although it is not that active any more. I play music occasionally in bars when I get a nice invitation. I currently live in Serres (small town) in Northern Greece. Music is a passion and hobby for me .I mostly listen to & play soul, funk, r&b, hip hop, disco, downtempo, house etc.

Ah yes I also co-released in the past as Nicko&Disco B on various labels and also had one ep with Ks French. I work as an orthodontist and I have a family with 2 small kids.
