This years LiveStyles Festival hosted its first beat making battle. Some of our favorite producers were asked to participate. We received 4 entries from

Deviant and Naive Ted (@deviantandnaiveted)

The rules went something like this.. 
3 samples were chosen. All sounds used in the final beats must have come from these sources. No Synths, Drum Machines, Vocals etc.. Samples Only.

The samples were..
13th Floor Elevators - Don't Fall Down
Weather Report - American Tango 
Tim Maia - Where is my other half 

On the day all 4 beats were played anonymously. The winning beat was chosen by a team of judges. 
In the end it was Deviant and Naive Ted that came out on top winning the 75e prize money but we were incredibly impressed with all the entries.

Live Styles beat battle

LiveStyles is Irelands first and largest Hip Hop festival which takes place annually on the June bank holiday weekend in Cork. Now in its 4th year LiveStyles hosts international Breakdance, Rap & Graffiti Battles as well as several gigs and workshops. 

We will be using this Soundcloud as a podcast with the aim of promoting the LiveStyles festival as well as the DJs who support it.
