CRONIN NELSON RIDDLE EP RELEASED 16TH MARCH 15 IN THE UK
Irish band Cronin start 2015 with the pre St Patrick's Day release of their Nelson Riddle EP.
The lead track is named after the Legendary string arranger who worked with Frank Sinatra and also wrote the 60's Batman TV theme tune.
The 4 track Ep Recorded on the same mic John Lennon recorded his vocal for Imagine on, in the brothers own studio, Transmission Rooms Ireland, the EP features guest performances from a raft of musical friends & heroes including Terry Edwards (Tindersticks, PJ Harvey, Gallon Drunk) on string arranging, Helen Turner (The Style Council) on Keys, The Frames brothers Karl and David Odlum on track Overlooking Paris and former JJ72 singer Mark Greaney for their homage to the late Gene Pitney with their version of "Something's Gotten Hold of My Heart".
The Ep is available to download and limited edition cd from March 2015.

Cronin release new single Little London on 19th May and Irish tour for vinyl release of debut album on Live Transmission Records now
Cronin return for their biggest run of Irish shows for new single release and vinyl release of debut album.
Little London will be released on 19th May. The remixed track from their debut album features a string arrangement by long time collaborator Terry Edwards who is currently on tour as PJ Harveys band which was recorded in London's the Church studios famous fro sessions such as Bob Dylan and The Stone Roses to name a few.
"It's a dark, brooding tale of a young man trying to stop his love leaving him for the bright lights of London, kind of our Bond theme." Mick Cronin reflects reflects on the Scott Walker tinged track.

To co inside with the release and finally the release on vinyl of The First Kiss of Love Album Cronin are doing their first Irish shows since their 2 night run in The Olympia supporting Ocean Colour Scene.

It was the 11th of October 2011 and The Republic of Ireland football team had just beaten Armenia and were on their way for the first time in 24 years to the European Championships in Poland and Ukraine. The Cronin brother's from Irish band The Aftermath had an idea. Why not do a remake of The Dubliners classic Irish song The Rocky Road to Dublin but instead have the final destination of Poland. So as the seed's were sewn, the Cronin's went about getting in touch with a few friends to collaborate with to make the song a bit more fun. 
One of which was Nenagh singer Tom Creagh who was also good friends with legendary Pogues front man Shane MacGowan. Tom asked Shane if he would like to get involved and Shane said it sounded a bit of craic.
Initial recording started in mid January with The Aftermath, Shane Macgowan, Tom Creagh and  Nenagh accordionist Rachel Ray at The Aftermath's own Transmission Rooms studio in Drumlish Co Longford. An idea came the night befor as Johnny Cronin explains "We were out the night before the recording, playing pool with Shane and discussing what we should do. Then Shane put David Bowie's 'Jean Genie' on the jukebox. Listening, he put down his drink, and said, that's how to do it. So it's The Dubliners picking up Bowie's 'Jean Genie' on 'The Rocky Road to Dublin'. It sounds mad but it works, and  "The Rockier Road to Poland was born" revealed Johnny.
The Cronins, MacGowan and Tom Creagh wrote the lyrics as more of a drinking and friendship song with them traveling around Ireland to Nenagh, Mullingar, Drumlish and finally Dublin for the trip to Poland but not being allowed on because of the bags being overweight.
Johnny Cronin added: “It’s a comedy song. Ours is more of a ‘Lisdoonvarna / The Craic Was Ninety In The Isle of Man’.Its a drinking, friendship song with a football theme.”
After the initial recording the Cronin's got in touch with a few more friends to finish the track. These include Fr Ted comedian Joe `Rooney, Dead 60's front man Matt McManamon, Duncan Patterson from Anathema, ledgendary Trad Music Piper Mike McGoldrick and a host of Leeds Irish finest musicians including the All Ireland accordion champion Sean Gavaghan, Paddy Flanary and the O Malley brothers Chris and Kieron.
The recording were then mixed by top Irish engineer Ger McDonnell, whose clients include U2 and The Manic Street Preachers.

Cronin take a break from the studio recording the follow up to their critically acclaimed debut with a handful of dates across Europe and a new single.
"There's a Darkness" will be available to stream from Friday 25th October.
Recorded and mixed in their own Transmission Rooms studio with the help of Karl Odlum (Glen Hansard, Ham Sandwich), Ger McDonnell (U2,Kasabian).
The song with a perfect Autumnal feel for this time of year with Halloween around the corner is a taste of an ambitious project Cronin have for 2020.
They are also due to hit the road with a series of gigs through November and the Christmas period.
More dates to be announced.
