For a bit of context on the scene, the entirety of magmadrop is a bomb rush styled area in genocide, you have to fight tons of guards that have been stationed out, mostly for stalling since alphys is in full control of evacuating the underground. After the loss of sans, alphys makes the NEOARM, a hastly built gun-arm weapon for undyne to use in battle. The only downside of this weapon is that it sucks out determination from the user in favor for power, but if used correctly, can overwrite the determination of any being with a single blast. Undyne believes this power will finally make her able to defeat you, as she can prepare everytime you reset, but eventually when the machine is at it's max power, she tries using it and it backfires, exploding on her instead, she becomes paralyzed and melts infront of you as the fight ends, and she dies. The song is meant to convey pure urgency and power, it's not meant to convey any feeling of hopefulness until the very end, it's very much so meant to be hard hitting and fear-inducing.
