Joel lives openly with HIV and Hep C and regularly shares his experiences with others as a member of both Living Positive Victoria and Hepatitis Victoria’s Positive Speakers Bureaus.

“When I was first diagnosed with Hep C I was shocked. I knew the virus was mostly transmitted through sharing drug injecting equipment but since I wasn't doing that, Hep C wasn't on my radar. It wasn't until later that I found out about the risk of sexual transmission for HIV positive men."

Dean is a gay man living with HIV, who has successfully cleared Hep C in the past. A board member of Living Positive Victoria, Dean is open about his experiences with drug use and HIV. Dean wanted to be a part of this feature to share his lived experience of Hep C and add to the discussion about the sexual transmission of Hep C.
