Shamanic Ecstatic Dance - Benjamin Crystal Live at The Source feat Nalini Blossom & Friends

Considered one of the pioneers of electronic organic music, Intiche‘s journey, he claims, started even before travelling from Argentina to Berlin for the first time in 1999. Indeed, the celebrated DJ and producer proclaims his “passion for music began some past lives before this one”. Nevertheless, it’s in the last twenty years of this life that the downtempo DJ has made considerable impact.

From an acoustic starting point, Intiche’s compositions find inspiration in Pachamama (“Mother Earth”) and earthy frequencies. Using traditional instruments, native to Latin America, Intiche’s trance-like productions deftly traverse history, weaving links between ancient indigenous cultures and modern club culture. Intiche’s music intends to “touch the soul” as much as make people dance and, accordingly, you’re just as likely to find him playing at Berlin’s Berghain or Beate Uwe as at ceremonies, yoga festivals, healing gatherings and “Ecstatic Dances” around the world. We’re grateful to have Intiche drop in for a Con Alma Mixtape.

“A Mixtape in an Ecstatic Dance. Two Waves flow for Sound & Colours, on a mixtape made between full moon and new moon in early November ’20. These are mostly original songs – some of them unreleased – that have the intention of making you feel good and keeping the motivation high. Uplifting melodies and rhythmic percussions to dance pump up the frequencies and the booties. It is a mixtape for listening in nature or whatever you are in this moment now – doing training, yoga, meditation…or just listening while traveling, chilling, or in a lockdown situation. "Con Alma" * Ecstatic Dance Mixtape for "Sounds and Colours" in 432 Mhz - Nov´20

This set took place at Paradise Lodge in Platanillo, Costa Rica, where I was living, surfing, co-creating, DJ-ing, and making magic for much of 2020, on the night that the man would have burned at the 2020 Burning Man.  

We tapped into the Multiverse via a virtual Burning Man portal called “The Sparkleverse,” and we also had a legendary dance party! 

At the time of “The Burn,” we went outside, said some prayers and intentions and expressions around the fire, which had a man made out of driftwood standing on an upcycled satellite dish, and then we danced and sang around the fire like lunatics having the best time of our lives. Then, I went inside and kicked it off with a good ol’ Lion King remix to get everyone into dance mode. It worked! We had an extremely fun night, and now you can enjoy the vibrations that we danced to in the jungle! Also, it was a special birthday for my friend Trinidad at midnight, so I put on Happy Birthday by Stevie Wonder, in case you were wondering about the Stevie Wonder interlude <3

It's another one of those nights when we remember the roots and the primordial rhythms. It's been a long time since we danced together in circles and celebrated our lives. All the more this is a wake-up call and a signal horn that may inspire us to close our eyes and smell the scent of our ancestors. It is we - merged with the great unity - who feel this acoustically and in vibration. Welcome to another Shamanic Journey that allows us to dive into the depths and vastness of our being. Let's not forget how it feels when we let go of everything and let the rhythm flow through our veins. Representing #mightygang from Brampton, @djdem-ones has energized crowds across Canada as touring DJ for Haviah Mighty. Lucky west coast listeners will recall just before Covid closures hit last spring, this dynamic duo went in on a Boiler Room set at Vancouver’s Fortune Sound Club. Watch it on Youtube, along with their Caribana-themed music video “Ba Na Na” with A Tribe Called Red, and you’ll see how Dem Ones is more than a DJ, she’s a hype woman backing up her performing partner on the mic, dancing and vibing up the crowd too. 
 
We’ve loved the mixes she’s released this year including her Rhythm & Bae and Fusion Freestyle sets, and a guest mix for Icarus Sound. Musically Dem Ones’ LiT MiX selections balance classics made fresh with current riddims, edits and blends, with anthems from pop hits to underground secret weapons—ID seekers peep the tracklist, shhhh. Mixing wise, the cuts are quick, the dubwise effects are live, and you can tell she had as much fun recording this LiT MiX as we will dancing to it.
