Campy tongue in cheek or sincere lament? Well kinda both; this was just one of those stream of consciousness snippets that was ridiculous in the onset, and I never thought it'd be something I put out there but it kept snowballing and these things end up like a dog waiting by the door silently imploring  "Let's go for a walk."   My son attended an academic conference a few weeks ago and related that an environmental scientist believes we're cooked, literally and figuratively. We may need help but I don't think it's coming. My mortal expectancy extends only to introductory portents but my kids and granddaughter can expect to see the collapse of our environment unfolding in total, irreversible clarity. OK let's go back to making fun for now.

can't you see your way through to help us one more time

we settled you in Atlantis we left you signs in Peru
we taught you the secrets of life on the Nile
but you never could live up to the gifts that we gave to you

heaven knows we've been blind to the lessons we were given
time after time
and if we never seem to learn don't abandon us 
when our fate is so dire

is it too much to ask to want these things to last a little longer?

Low Melody In The Lost Cathedral ....

I have dedicated this piece to my brother and sister in law, they both had and still have very difficult times healthwise...

the art picture was taken by my niece's husband Cees, an excellent photographer in his spare time, he took this picture in the Roman Catholic church H.H. Cyriacus-Franciscus in Hoorn in the North of Holland...
My niece and her husband have been looking after them in their difficult times, and this was part of an outing....
