Liz Wigley - Overdrive Guest Mix for Mart-EB on Experience Trance

Liz is a classically trained musician who bought her first set of belt drive turntables almost 20 years ago after falling in love with trance after attending Gatecrasher at The Republic in Sheffield. Self-taught, she quickly learned the ropes and landed herself a residency at Domain in Harrogate where she warmed up for DJ’s including Eddie Halliwell, Andy Durrant, John Kelly and Nick Riley. She also regularly played at Leeds night Kemistry as well as playing at clubs including Bubblelove and Mainframe Festival. She also was lucky enough to play at the legendary Republic in Sheffield alongside Paul Van Dyk where she played Saxophone in the 2nd room with 'Open Up' and she was the resident Saxophonist at 'Speed Queen' in Leeds between 2002 and 2004.

After a 15 year hiatus Liz took up DJing again, forging her own distinct sound - a hard hitting mixture of Tech Trance and Psy. In 2018 she won the Uplift DJ competition, winning a set at their main event playing alongside Activa, Sam Laxton and Mickey Marr. She has also recently played at We Are You in Liverpool alongside Sneijder, Shugz & David Rust, Anomaly After Dark in Birmingham and CODA in Llandudno. 

Liz played at the legendary Gatecrasher in Sheffield in June 2019, the club that got her in to trance all those years ago. She has also played at Rong, Trance Sanctuary, Anomaly, Resonate and Dimension. She has been titles the 'Queen of Nails' - and this is a perfect description of her hard hitting sets full of a Tech Trance, Techno, Hard Trance, Hardstyle and Psy.

Busy in the studio she is also working on her own tracks as well as some collaborations. She's had a track signed to Darren Porters Transgression imprint the she made with partner Melvin Sheppard and Richard Tanselli. 

Liz has always been a massive fan of John Askew's VII label, this year she won a competition with Melvin Sheppard to remix Simon Pattersons - Spike. The track is being released on their Volume II Compilation on Simon Pattersons mix and will be getting it's own release later in the year. 

During lockdown Liz has been very active playing numerous Live streams for Trance Sanctuary, Tremor, Radiation Recordings, Rebels TV and Trance Room playing alongside artists such as John Askew, Sean Tyas, Sam Jones, Signum, Paul Denton, Shugz, Renegade System, Asteroid and Billy Gillies.

In 2021 she was lucky enough to grace the decks at Rong, Anomaly and Tremor. She has been booked to play the ASOT pre party in Utrecht which has been rescheduled for 2023!
