Having their own nights at Opium Club and being a regular fit on Draugai Draugams or Gallery1986 events proved that these guys aren’t one of those newcomers who fade out too soon. The light, energetic and fast house reflects the three-track EP "Emenate". And this work "Cigarette" is the first of three completed last spring. That's what the piece smells like.

Patricia Kokett follows up two critically-acclaimed esoteric techno releases on Knekelhuis (Bizarr [2020], Diabel [2018]) with a new EP – Psykhe – to be released by Isla to Isla on the 25th of april 2023 as a 12” vinyl and digital.

Psykhe sees Lithuanian musician and composer Gediminas Jakubka continuing to explore his own distinct sound, but taking it in a new direction: a step away from the euphoric new age dance floor and into a significantly murkier, more precarious territory. Psykhe is meant as a sonic simulacrum of the artist's psyche during the pandemic – a quickened mind bred by a decelerated world. In that and other senses, the record is a modern take on the ‘80s/’90s Detroit ethos of dance music created for an illusory dance floor.

Incidentally (or not!), Psykhe is much more electro-based and darker – intent on delivering catharsis, but not euphoria.

Lizdas Premiere: Patricia Kokett -  Love Your Ghosts

Maria Paskevic delivers a live performance for Antidote Community in Kaunas Taxi Park, which became a setting for Audra festival. 

Over the last few years, Maria Paskevic has emerged as one of the most exciting up-and-coming artists in Lithuania. She has been composing music for theatre as well as producing electronic music and playing live. Maria’s most notable work is music for the ballet "Days, Minutes”, which premiered at the Lithuanian National Opera and Ballet Theatre in 2019, for which she has been awarded the Golden Cross of the Stage as the best composer for theatre. 

In Lithuanian techno scene she is known for her her high-energy, unpredictable selections - oldschool techno, trance, (hyper)pop, IDM, acid, breaks and a touch of hardcore. Currently Maria Paskevic is a resident DJ at Elastica and Lizdas, where she also runs party series ‘Attention!’ together with Meri Hov.

New season – new winds. Waves, to be precise. With our new WAVES mix series, we've set out to present the waves that want to take the storm by storm. 

The first name is Simonas Činga a.k.a. Cport Cistema, who has been heard and seen many times by more attentive listeners. He is a producer and DJ who has been working in the shadows for years, keeping a low profile, but has finally started to attract more and more attention over the last year.

This year seems to have been a productive one for Simonas, with a number of successful independent releases and even a cassette released on the iconic Los Angeles label 100% Silk. We are delighted to have taken the artist's spare hour to record a great set. Tune in – we're sure you'll enjoy it too.

Lizdas Waves #1: Cport Cistema

Some things are blessed and remain unchanged, while others take time and the patience of the authors to truly understand their meaning and beauty. For the same reasons, we have long watched the duo @PeanutsonKeto , known in our craft circles simply as Edvinas and Gytis, the curators of Sodo Reikalai night. 

After the slow wave of electronica that happened back in the middle of the last decade, the sound has remained relevant and confirmed that it was not some kind of herd yum or temporary fad. A very similar sound was shaped by the aforementioned Peanuts on Keto – everything came together in the second #WAVES. We’re glad that the gates of that secret garden sometimes open in Lizdas, and this time also in the mix. Let's wander.

Lizdas Waves #2: Peanuts on Keto

The first thing you will hear is the voice emerging from nothingness "So Good, So Good...". Is it a subtle spoiler for us what to expect in the next hour? We could hardly disagree.
The third instalment of our WAVES series is carved by our very welcome guests from Scotland - @DixonAvenueBasementJams . As you would expect, the mix is full of intrigue and leads the listener through the kingdom's bumpy musical landscape. And there's everything from acid splashes, classic House vocal adaptations to the gloomy dark alleys where Bass music culture was once born. But fear not - throughout the musical journey, listeners will be under the watchful eye of the legendary UK label's cerberus.

Split Pulse is a name to remember, that's for sure. Once a member of techno head family "Didžiųjų Agregatų Inžinieriai", later a cousin of "Minimal.lt" but lastly a prominent face behind the decks of Opium Club. Oh, not to mention his short lived rap afficionado as "Patamsių Gaivalai". This truly technical and groovy guy shows off his modern side: house-ish, maybe little disco-ish but still with visible treats of techno background and unique mixing skills. Sounds best during the early sunset, trust us.
