Canto III was written for soprano Liz Pearse. Liz was commenting on how there are many pieces asking instrumentalists to sing, but very few that go the other way. Here is Liz's performance at the UNK New Music Series. 

This is piece is also the first of three "Canto" pieces, in which I set texts from Dante's Inferno. Canto III's setting is the famous inscription above the gate of hell.
